Aug 14, 2025 at 4:33 PMOn September 3 and 4, 2025, the Air Cargo Community Frankfurt, in collaboration with the Start-Up Accelerator Haus61 and Messe Frankfurt, invites you to this year’s Air Cargo Conference at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt. Visitors can look forward to a diverse stage program, which Lufthansa Cargo actively shapes even in the tenth anniversary year of the event.
Besides exciting presentations and panel discussions, attendees at the Air Cargo Conference can expect, for the first time, an additional stage alongside the main stage, focusing entirely on the topic of innovation in air freight.
A special highlight of this year’s Air Cargo Conference is the new Innovation Stage. Here, everything revolves around forward-looking technologies, smart processes, and innovative solutions for the air freight industry. A unique format on the Innovation Stage is the Innovation Award initiated by Lufthansa Cargo.
Thursday, September 4, 15:05 to 16:00: Innovation Pitch on the Innovation Stage: In a startup pitch, a total of eight pre-selected logistics start-up companies have the opportunity to present their innovative approaches and technological solutions for the logistics and air freight industry. An expert jury of industry professionals will evaluate the submitted concepts, including Frank Bauer, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Lufthansa Cargo, who will bring his extensive experience to the selection of the most convincing ideas and ultimately award the winning start-up with the “Lufthansa Cargo Innovator Award.” The award ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 4, at 17:35 on the Mainstage.
Diverse Stage Program with Experts
In addition, experts from Lufthansa Cargo will shape the extensive program of the industry meeting and share insights into current projects of the company. Interested parties are warmly invited to attend.
- Wednesday, September 3, 14:30 to 15:15 on the Innovation Stage: Bettina Petzold, Head of Corporate Responsibility, will address the questions in the panel discussion “Taking Off with Responsibility: On Our Way to a Sustainable Air Cargo Supply Chain” about how a holistic and sustainable transformation of air freight can be successfully implemented, what role innovation and cooperation play in this, and what responsibilities companies along the supply chain must assume.
- Wednesday, September 3, 15:20 to 15:50 on the Innovation Stage: Dr. Christian Lehr, Head of Global Fulfillment Development, will provide insights in the joint presentation “Air Cargo Reloaded: The Smart and Digital Future of Air Cargo” with Dr. Harald Sieke, Head of Aviation Logistics at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics, into the latest developments in the Digital Test Field Air Cargo – DTAC, such as the new industry-wide IATA data standard ONE Record. This standard will gradually lay the technological foundation for more efficient sharing of various types of information and documents for all participants along the transport chain starting in 2026.
- Thursday, September 4, 11:25 to 11:55 on the Mainstage: Stefan Dürr, Senior Director LCCevolution Program, will provide exclusive insights into one of Lufthansa Cargo’s currently largest and most ambitious infrastructure projects under the title “Open-heart-surgery at Lufthansa Cargo | A look at the operating room.” The focus will be on the comprehensive transformation of the Lufthansa Cargo Center (LCC) at Frankfurt Airport – an ongoing modernization process that takes place at full operational capacity. This keynote will address the strategic objectives, operational challenges, and innovative solutions with which Lufthansa Cargo is actively shaping the future of its logistics hub.
- Thursday, September 4, 16:05 to 16:55 on the Innovation Stage: Dr. Jasmin Kaiser, Vice President, Chief Information (CIO) & Data Officer (CDO), will address the topic of innovation in air freight logistics in the panel “Innovation meets Industry” together with other industry experts.
- Thursday, September 4, 16:20 to 17:05 on the Mainstage: Uwe Glunz, Managing Director at CB Customs Broker, will discuss current challenges in cross-border eCommerce logistics in the panel “Bridging Continents – How Europe and Asia Tackle eCommerce Challenges from Different Perspectives,” among others with Carsten Hernig, Deputy General Manager and VP Production, Sales & Marketing at Shanghai Pudong International Airport Cargo Terminal Co., Ltd. (PACTL).
Exhibition Area with Various Highlights
Another highlight of this year’s event is the exhibition area, where companies will present their products, services, and technological innovations to the audience. time:matters Courier Terminals GmbH and Cargo Human Care e.V. will have their own booths.
time:matters invites visitors to an immersive virtual reality experience. Using VR glasses, interested parties can virtually explore the company’s global courier terminal network – with a special focus on the Frankfurt location. The interactive application impressively illustrates how operational excellence at time:matters Courier Terminals forms the basis for speed, precision, and reliability in international premium express transport.

On Wednesday, September 3, from 12:45 to 12:55 on the Mainstage, Fokko Doyen and Norbert Pahlsmeyer from Cargo Human Care will present the new “Cargo Human Care Business Partnership Program for Humanity: Together Moving More.”
