From Städtler and Opheo to Solvares Logistics GmbH
Aug 12, 2025 at 6:03 PMThe rapidly growing contract logistics company ID Logistics in Germany received a visit in July from Grant Hendrik Tonne, member of the state parliament and Minister of Economics of Lower Saxony. He acknowledged the role that the contract logistics provider plays in the region as one of the largest employers.
(Griesheim/Estorf) In Germany, ID Logistics currently operates with around 4,500 employees at 14 locations, covering 810,000 m² of warehouse space, including up to 600 employees in Estorf in two logistics buildings in the newly constructed Mittelweser Park. Following the commissioning of the 17,000 m² fulfillment center for perfume and cosmetic products, which will employ up to 250 people in 2024, ID Logistics is currently setting up its second e-commerce location for future operations. Starting in September 2025, the company will operate another distribution center of 60,000 m² with over 40 loading docks for seasonal products, employing up to 400 people at peak times.
Already today, 150 out of a total of 230 planned employees for this additional business are under contract. ID Logistics is currently conducting further interviews at all levels. Team leaders and operational staff are primarily being sought.
High Racks with 82,000 m² of Warehouse Space
To handle over 75,000 cartons per day during peak season, high racks with a storage area of approximately 82,000 m³ are currently being installed, capable of storing around 1.6 million items of various sizes. Of the total of 75 electric forklifts – including 65 specialized Manup forklifts – 15% have already been delivered. The delivery of the mobile conveyor belts is expected by mid-August.
“We are very pleased with the interest in contract logistics and our everyday business. We are making good progress in hiring employees, and we have received excellent support from the job fair in Nienburg and the job center of the Nienburg district,” reports Leif Venus, site manager of ID Logistics in Estorf. “However, our discussions with potential employees also reveal that they lack access to public transport.” In discussions with Grant Hendrik Tonne, the possibilities for installing a bus stop with appropriate frequency for the employee-intensive location were also discussed.
“To better integrate one of the largest employment sites in the region into the public transport network, ID Logistics would greatly appreciate support for the transport infrastructure. On one hand, a bus stop directly in front of the Mittelweser Park would reduce individual traffic; on the other hand, it would ensure that even more people from the region can take up employment,” explains Leif Venus.
Next Bus Stop Nearly Two Kilometers Away
The nearest bus stop is currently nearly two kilometers from the workplace. It is crucial that the arrival and departure times are aligned with the operating hours of the companies located in the Mittelweser Park, according to ID Logistics.
