MANSIO and TRAVIS Provide New Swap Areas for Trucks
May 6, 2025 at 6:38 PMThe Cargo Trans Logistik AG (CTL) reflects on a successful business year 2024. Through the establishment of new national and international partnerships, the groupage network now includes 200 partners, providing a high network density and resilience across Europe. Despite challenging market conditions, CTL was able to increase transport volumes by intensifying international business and expanding its service offerings.
(Homberg) This targeted growth is reflected in a revenue increase to nearly 161 million euros. With the establishment of its own IT service provider, SoftWard, CTL is also focusing on the ongoing digitalization and optimization of network processes.
“In 2024, we significantly expanded our network. Our 200 national and international partners ensure maximum network density and security across Europe,” says Francesco De Lauso, CEO of CTL AG. The company’s own local transport in challenging regions such as Cologne and Hanover also contributes to this.
Transport volumes in 2024 increased slightly by one percent compared to the previous year, reaching 2.46 million groupage shipments. This was managed through the pure hub-and-spoke system. Key drivers of the positive volume development included international business: By strategically building new international partners and routes, CTL was able to expand its offerings and increase volumes in this segment by over ten percent. Additionally, the expansion of the service portfolio, such as the new high-performance product CTL Collect, also contributed to the increase in volumes. Thus, the growth trajectory was maintained despite challenging conditions, and the capacities of the network were well utilized.
Revenue Increase of 9.1 Percent
CTL’s revenue increased by 9.1 percent in the 2024 business year, reaching nearly 161 million euros. The revenue growth is primarily due to the strategic expansion of CTL’s service portfolio, which goes beyond network services and has gained importance, in addition to the usual tariff adjustments.
Establishment of SoftWard GmbH
Another important milestone in the 2024 business year was the establishment of SoftWard GmbH. With this step, CTL is setting the course for a future-oriented IT infrastructure. SoftWard GmbH will develop and implement innovative IT solutions for the network to further advance the digitalization and optimization of network processes. The basis for this is the operational software of the network, which CTL has fully acquired from the previous service provider and transferred to the AG.
Strategic Orientation
Despite the persistently challenging market situation, the groupage cooperation looks confidently to the future. “At CTL, we actively shape the change. Together with our partners, we prepare for upcoming demands with competence, efficiency, and reliability,” says De Lauso. The focus areas are clearly defined: In addition to operational performance and network coverage, it will primarily be about international expansion, the rollout of innovative AI applications, and the development of industry solutions for partners. This will be accompanied by the implementation of a long-term sustainability strategy.
