ID Logistics Establishes E-Fulfillment Center in Diemelstadt
Mar 25, 2025 at 6:47 PMUnder the headline “Big Bang”, the initiative “The Economic Makers” will launch a large-scale campaign at the end of March. The goal is to raise awareness of the logistics sector and its supply function through a poster and postcard campaign in major German cities. In addition, the Economic Makers will continue their successful campaign work on social media and their website to inspire young people to pursue a career in this economic sector.
(Bremen) Whether it’s innovative technologies driving digitalization or breakfast that ensures a good start to the day – logistics is behind it all. However, many people are unaware of the importance of logistics for their functioning daily lives. Therefore, at the end of March, the initiative “The Economic Makers” will kick off a nationwide campaign aimed at increasing visibility for the economic sector in the general public. The campaign includes 85 large-format posters that highlight the system-relevant supply function of logistics using simple imagery. Additionally, 210,000 eye-catching free postcards will be distributed at 2,000 locations to draw attention to the numerous career opportunities in the economic sector. The campaign will run until the “Logistics Day” on April 10, 2025, in seven major German cities: Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich, and Stuttgart. On this Europe-wide action day, everyone interested will have the opportunity to experience logistics live.
“With our Big Bang campaign, the name says it all: Through vibrant postcards and posters in central locations where many people gather daily, we want to bring logistics and its function and significance more into focus. We convey our message by showing through relatable and well-founded content what is ‘Made by Logistics’,” explains Berit Börke, spokesperson for the Economic Makers.
Third Largest Economic Sector in Germany
With a revenue of around 327 billion euros in 2023 and over 3.3 million employees, logistics is the third largest economic sector in Germany, following the automotive industry and trade. It is also one of the country’s most important employers. Logistics offers not only interesting job perspectives for academics but also for vocational and commercial trainees as well as unskilled workers. Additionally, it is characterized by a particularly high friendliness towards career changers. In total, there are nearly 200 training occupations and 110 degree programs related to logistics in Germany.
Unlike other industries, however, too few people are aware of the diverse career opportunities that logistics offers and how significant its role is for the economy and society. For this reason, the Economic Makers aim to make a statement with the campaign in the first half of 2025 and catch up with other sectors such as crafts, healthcare, and chemicals, all of which have a strong presence in politics and the media. In parallel, the initiative continues successful formats such as the video campaign “Logistics is where I am”.
Campaign Expands Previous Strategy
“With the campaign, we are expanding our previous strategy with an element that helps us as an initiative to achieve maximum attention for the economic sector and our approximately 100 collaborators in the general public,” says Berit Börke.
