INFORM Controls Logistics Processes of Würth in Künzelsau
Mar 25, 2025 at 6:59 PMID Logistics has signed one of the largest contracts in the German contract logistics market with an e-commerce company. Starting in the third quarter of 2025, ID Logistics will operate a 68,000 m² E-Fulfillment Center in Diemelstadt, located in northern Hesse between Paderborn and Kassel. From this ESG-compliant new logistics facility, the contract logistics provider will ship packages nationwide from a warehouse spectrum containing up to 1.9 million small and medium-sized items.
(Griesheim/Diemelstadt) The contract involves a customized e-commerce logistics concept for the customer, featuring a wide variety of items while accommodating different order quantities and ensuring high-speed execution (Same Day/Next Day orders).
“From the planning of the logistics concept to our specialization in complex e-commerce solutions, combined with high agility, to the tailored real estate solution and our in-house developed concept for personnel recruiting and deployment management, we provide everything from a single source. This allows us to achieve high process and cost efficiency, as our customers desire, especially for complex projects,” explains Robin Otto, CEO of ID Logistics Germany.
Experience in Implementing Complex Large Projects
ID Logistics has many years of experience in Germany in setting up and implementing complex large projects in logistics centers and is willing to invest not only in the buildings but also in the interior fittings. In Diemelstadt, ID Logistics is investing 20 million euros solely in intralogistics, including extensive storage, picking, and conveyor systems, including sorting facilities.
At the start, ID Logistics will employ 300 staff in four of the six units of the large logistics center. As with every commissioning of ID Logistics, they will be supported by experienced mentors from other ID Logistics locations in Germany and internationally. At full capacity starting in 2026, around 600 to 700 employees are planned to work in a 3-shift operation across all six halls.
Andreas Fritz, the mayor of Diemelstadt, is pleased about the establishment of ID Logistics: “The establishment of a modern, innovation-driven, and sustainably operating company and employer like ID Logistics Germany is a very positive signal for our city. Both Diemelstadt and its citizens, as well as the entire surrounding area, will benefit from this. The logistics park with direct highway access will create new jobs for the region and further strengthen and complement the local economy.”
The Diemelstadt logistics park is a joint project between the logistics real estate specialist Scannell Properties and ID Logistics and will be completed in the third quarter of 2025 to the DGNB Gold Standard. Located in the heart of Germany, the Diemelstadt logistics park offers 24/7 usage and direct access to the A44 highway and the B252 between Kassel/Bad Hersfeld and Paderborn, as well as further connections to the A33 and A7 highways, providing excellent infrastructure.
Consistently Positive Cooperation with the Project Team
“The park represents an ambitious project and is ideally suited for large-scale national as well as European distribution activities. We are very pleased that ID Logistics, as an experienced large logistics provider, will take the area into operation and utilize it comprehensively immediately after completion,” reports Jan Imfeld, Country Manager Germany at Scannell Properties. “On behalf of Scannell Properties, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the city administration, whose tireless efforts have made the establishment in Diemelstadt possible. The consistently positive cooperation with the project team has characterized our collaboration over the past two years.”
