Bertschi Group 2024 with Revenue Growth of Five Percent
Feb 13, 2025 at 8:50 PMThe MOSOLF Port Logistics & Services GmbH (MPLS), part of the internationally active MOSOLF Group, has established a strategic joint venture (JV) with Bahri, the national shipping company of Saudi Arabia, and TASARU Mobility Investments (TASARU), an investment company fully owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia, which will redefine automotive logistics in Saudi Arabia.
(Kirchheim unter Teck/Riyadh) The goal of the JV is to build a comprehensive ecosystem that covers the entire supply chain from arrival at the port to delivery to dealers or end customers. The establishment was retroactively dated to January 1, 2025, with a ceremonial event during the PIF Forum on February 12, 2025, in Riyadh.
The joint venture underscores the strategic importance of the MOSOLF Group in the international automotive logistics market. With the expansion of port activities and the establishment of a state-of-the-art hinterland logistics in Saudi Arabia, MOSOLF is setting new standards in the industry. In the future, vehicle manufacturers and importers in Saudi Arabia can rely on a comprehensive package: from delivery at the port to technical services, interim storage, and delivery to dealers or end customers. These services cover passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, and trucks. Additionally, an extensive fleet of car transporters will be established to ensure regional distribution.
The MOSOLF Group brings its extensive expertise and services measured by the highest standards to create an efficient and sustainable logistics structure that meets the demands of the automotive industry as well as the Saudi Arabian government’s Vision 2030.
For implementation, MOSOLF plans, together with its partners, the development of strategically located logistics centers in Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam. These locations will offer a wide range of services, including Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), vehicle cleaning, painting, interim storage, and more. These measures will lay the foundation for a powerful and sustainable logistics network that is unparalleled in the Arab region.
Wilhelmshaven as an International Hub
International collaboration not only offers new opportunities in the Saudi Arabian market but also strengthens the location of Wilhelmshaven. This will be further developed in collaboration with Bahri Logistics and positioned as a center for international automotive transshipment. The MPLS will thus play a key role in the global supply chain for sea-based car transport and further expand its position as an integral part of the MOSOLF Group.
Dr. Jörg Mosolf, Chairman of the Board of the MOSOLF Group, states: “With our experience from Europe, we bring proven processes and innovative solutions. This joint venture offers us the opportunity to further expand our expertise in a dynamic market while strengthening our German location in Wilhelmshaven.”
Michael Müller, CEO of TASARU, emphasizes: “This joint venture is a crucial step in meeting the increasing demands of the automotive and mobility industry. Together, we are creating a sustainable logistics infrastructure that will not only transform the market in Saudi Arabia but also set standards worldwide.”
In-Depth Understanding of the Local Market
Alexandre Joseph, Strategic Business Development Vice President at Bahri Logistics, adds: “Our maritime expertise and in-depth understanding of the local market make us a central partner in this project. We are proud to contribute to Vision 2030 and to solve the logistical challenges in the automotive sector together with the MOSOLF Group.”
