Feb 11, 2025 at 5:41 PMThe efficiency of a digital application in practice largely depends on the degree of automation. Hamburg-based SIRUM GmbH is now introducing a transport management system for the KEP services of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, headquartered in Osnabrück, which allows the entire process from order acceptance to invoicing to be mapped in one system. The project duration is two years.
(Hamburg/Osnabrück) “This new task is both a confirmation and a commitment for us. It shows that we have an innovative solution and a highly motivated team,” says Dennis Ringhofer, Managing Director of SIRUM GmbH. The Hamburg-based company offers a 360-degree solution for modern logistics processes with the SIRUM Logistics Suite, which securely and efficiently integrates all central logistics and business processes in a private cloud.
Whether transport management (TMS), warehouse management (WMS), CRM, or accounting – the seamless integration of the various modules enables increased efficiency and gives organizations an advantage in a market environment characterized by high competitive pressure. For Hellmann, the decisive factors were not only the performance of the solution but also the strong personal support from SIRUM. “Our goal is to accompany logistics companies in the process of digitalization. We do not leave them alone with challenges, but take them by the hand and seek solutions together,” explains Ringhofer.
Hellmann is also highly satisfied with the collaboration so far. “With SIRUM, we have not only found a powerful technology service provider but also a partner who shares our vision of digitally connected logistics. Together, we can optimize processes and set new standards in KEP logistics, from which our customers will also benefit sustainably,” says Stefan Borggreve, Chief Operating Officer at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. Hellmann Worldwide Logistics is a global logistics service provider with over 12,000 employees. In addition to its headquarters in Osnabrück, the company operates 243 branches in 57 countries. Its service portfolio includes air and sea freight, rail and road freight transport, KEP services, contract logistics, and other services. To increase efficiency in KEP services, Hellmann began searching for a suitable transport management system in 2023. After a selection process, the decision in favor of SIRUM was made in spring 2024. However, Hellmann did not stop at just a commissioning but also made a further investment. The logistics group acquired a minority stake in the TMS provider SIRUM. “The collaboration with SIRUM is an important step for us to increase the efficiency of our KEP services while also improving our customers’ satisfaction. We appreciate SIRUM’s innovative strength and flexibility, which allows us to develop tailored solutions for our specific requirements,” explains Stefan Borggreve.
Customers Benefit from Developments
“Hellmann’s decision to invest in our company makes us very happy. On the one hand, it creates the basis for further growth and, on the other hand, leaves our independence untouched,” says SIRUM Managing Director Ringhofer. In recent months, the TMS provider has also made further new hires. This ensures that the technical level and the degree of personal support remain consistently high. Furthermore, in the coming years, all customers will have the opportunity to benefit from the developments made for Hellmann, as these will be incorporated into the Logistics Suite.
