With this strategic acquisition, Hellmann is positioning itself to expand its global presence in the complex market for perishable goods and continue to offer innovative solutions to customers worldwide.
(Osnabrück/Los Angeles) Based in Los Angeles, HPL Apollo specializes in the transport of perishable goods by air, sea, and land. The acquisition of the 50 percent stake previously held by Mercury Aviation comes after twelve years of successful collaboration between the two companies. To ensure a seamless transition and significant synergies within the company’s global network, Ivo Skorin will continue to serve as Managing Director at HPL Apollo.
With a strong presence in established markets such as Peru, Mexico, Brazil, and Chile, Hellmann has been active in the field of Perishable Logistics for decades. As part of the integration of HPL Apollo, the company will now focus on expanding its market position in the fresh logistics sector in the USA, where it is already represented in key locations such as Miami, Los Angeles, Honolulu, and San Francisco. At the same time, Hellmann plans to leverage this solid foundation to enter new strategic markets such as Colombia, Ecuador, and Central America in the coming years, contributing to its global growth objectives.
“Our goal is to grow sustainably worldwide, with North America playing a key role. Therefore, the acquisition of the joint venture is of great strategic importance to us,” says Jens Drewes, CEO of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
