Focus Group “Trends and Innovations in Logistics Real Estate”
Jan 23, 2025 at 7:41 PMAfter expanding its activities last year, the Logistics Real Estate Initiative (Logix) plans to launch a variety of new projects in 2025. The goal is to share and discuss information and concerns of the industry with stakeholders. Accordingly, Logix presents a new website at the beginning of the year, which not only features a modern design but also facilitates access to the initiative’s publications. An internal, password-protected member area now also allows for exchange within the community.
(Weiterstadt) Additionally, the initiative continues its proven communication activities in the areas of PR and social media, complementing them with new formats. For example, a dedicated podcast series aims to communicate topics more specifically and reach new target groups.
The support for the initiative’s work remains strong. This year, the number of sponsors is expected to grow to over 70. Furthermore, partnerships with the German Association of Cities and Towns (DStGB), the Logistics Real Estate Committee of the Central Real Estate Committee (ZIA), and the Logistics Real Estate Working Group of the Federal Association of Logistics (BVL) are set to be further expanded.
New Research Projects and Publications
A central component of the initiative’s work will also be the publication of further projects in 2025. These include: a study on municipal heat planning, an ESG guide for existing properties, a new publication featuring “Best Cases” of logistics real estate, and a thematic issue for municipalities that highlights the advantages of logistics real estate in terms of heat planning, trade tax, workforce, etc. Additionally, a new creative format called the “Wimmelbuch der Logistikimmobilie” will be created, which playfully and vividly illustrates the importance of these properties. Last but not least, the municipal magazine dialogix, which was published for the first time last year, will appear in three editions. It serves as a platform for the exchange of opinions, best practice examples, and impulses between municipalities and the industry. The next issue will be released in February 2025 and sent to around 800 municipalities and district administrators in Germany.
Logix Award and Events
The initiative will also be represented at numerous events, trade fairs, and conferences in 2025. Its goal is to convey information, promote exchange, and gather impulses. Presentations and discussion rounds are planned, among others, at the German Municipal Congress of the DStGB in June in Berlin, at the international trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT, and supply chain management, transport logistic in June, and at the real estate trade fair Expo Real, both in Munich. On the first evening of Expo Real, October 6, the Logix Award will also be presented. This award has been given every two years since 2013 and honors outstanding logistics real estate developments in Germany.
