Jan 21, 2025 at 5:42 PMAs of January 15, Dachser has acquired all shares of its Finnish joint venture DACHSER Finland Oy. With this step, the logistics service provider strengthens its land transport network in Northern Europe. Dachser established the joint venture in Finland at the end of 2013 together with the ACE Logistics Group.
(Kempten/Helsinki) Both partners previously held 50 percent of the shares. Now, Dachser has taken over all shares of the joint venture and is also fully integrating Dachser Finland Oy into its Nordic land transport organization under the leadership of Peter Hut, Managing Director Nordic European Logistics.
Alexander Tonn, COO Road Logistics Dachser: “With the acquisition, we are bringing our Road Logistics setup in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway even closer together and ensuring consistent organizational structures and processes in our land transport network,” says Alexander Tonn, COO Road Logistics at Dachser. This allows Dachser to offer its customers in the region integrated transport and logistics services for industrial and consumer goods as well as food, while also ensuring a close air and sea freight connection through the Air & Sea Logistics business unit.
Long Trusting Partnership
DACHSER has been working with its network partner ACE Logistics Group, headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, for more than 25 years in the Baltic States. For the Baltic region and Ukraine, ACE will continue to be a close partner of DACHSER in the European land transport network.
In Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, DACHSER employs around 1,800 staff. To strengthen the Nordic region, DACHSER acquired the Swedish food logistics company Frigoscandia AB at the beginning of 2024 and recently invested in new branches in Aalborg, Denmark, and Kristiansand, Norway. DACHSER is also expanding in Jönköping and Landskrona in Sweden and is moving into larger buildings.
New Location Planned in Tampere
In addition, a new location in Tampere, Finland, is set to go live in spring 2025. “Dachser Nordic is a significant pillar of our network,” says Alexander Tonn. “By investing in Finland, we are strengthening the region and further sharpening our services for our customers locally and globally.”
