Ten years ago, it was just under 100 million packages, and since then, the volumes have quintupled. This impressively underscores our international market presence and the trust of our customers,” says Peter Umundum, Deputy General Director, Board Member for Parcel & Logistics, Austrian Post AG.
On an average day in 2024, the Post transported around 800,000 packages across Austria, with this number rising to over one million packages in December. The daily peak was reached in early December with over 1.56 million packages. However, the year 2024 not only brought a new package record for the home market. Overall, Austrian Post AG transported 508 million packages domestically and internationally, which corresponds to a volume increase of seven percent. The subsidiaries in Southeast and Eastern Europe, Turkey, and Azerbaijan together transported around 284 million packages.
