Nov 7, 2024 at 6:52 PMTGW Logistics has secured a major order from the fashion specialist Betty Barclay Group. The internationally leading provider of highly automated intralogistics solutions is equipping the new distribution center of the fashion company in Nußloch, Germany, with state-of-the-art automation technology.
(Marchtrenk/Nußloch) The logistics center of the Betty Barclay Group (LCBBG) enables the entire handling of goods from a single location. Previously, distribution logistics were decentralized and largely external. In the future, around 150 employees will ship 10 million garments worldwide annually from over 15,000 m² of space. Initial deliveries are planned for the third quarter of 2026.
TGW FlashPick as a Powerful Core
The core of the solution is TGW FlashPick. The system includes, among other things, a shuttle warehouse with 120,000 storage locations and twelve ergonomic PickCenter picking workstations. The individual areas of the facility are connected by 3.4 kilometers of KingDrive conveyor technology.
“Our extensive experience and numerous references in the fashion industry have convinced the Betty Barclay Group that TGW Logistics is the right partner for the project. Our technology not only provides the optimal solution for future business requirements but also the efficiency and scalability necessary for sustainable success,” emphasizes Johann Steinkellner, CEO of TGW Systems Integration. “We are very pleased that Betty Barclay is also relying on TGW expertise during ongoing operations – as part of a 20-year lifetime services contract.”
Tailored to the Needs of the Fashion Company
The concept is specifically tailored to the needs of the fashion company and includes maintenance, repair, and spare parts management. “The investment in the LCBBG is a significant milestone for the future of our corporate group. We are firmly convinced that this step will noticeably optimize processes, services, and thus the overall service for our customers,” says Manfred Plaar, CFO of the Betty Barclay Group. He is confident that the new logistics center will have a positive impact on the company’s future potential as well as on the economic region. TGW Logistics is the intralogistics partner for numerous leading fashion companies, including online giant Zalando, sportswear specialist Puma, workwear manufacturer Engelbert Strauss, and fashion label Mango.
