Nov 7, 2024 at 6:24 PMThe Logistics Real Estate Initiative (Logix) presents three new publications that address the most pressing challenges in logistics real estate and sustainability. They are now available for free on the Logix website and provide valuable insights and practical recommendations for municipalities, investors, users, and other logistics stakeholders.
(Munich) As a basis for a study coming in Q1 2025, the Logix Initiative, together with study author Jannick Höper, Managing Partner of List Eco GmbH, has formulated seven theses on logistics real estate in the context of municipal heat planning. They demonstrate how logistics centers can make a significant contribution to decarbonization through the use of renewable energies and innovative supply concepts. The planned study analyzes the potential of these properties as energy suppliers for municipalities and provides concrete implementation strategies for optimizing municipal heat supply.
Study “Logistics Real Estate – Key Points of the Supply Chain”
This study, first published in 2016 as the “White Paper on Logistics Real Estate,” examines the importance of logistics real estate for the economic supply of industry and the population. In addition to explaining different types of properties, it offers in-depth insights into the economic effects of logistics real estate, particularly regarding job creation, labor shortages, and regional development. The study was already presented at the Expo Real in Munich at the Logix Municipal Conference in early October.
Energy Monitoring Brochure
The new brochure on energy monitoring in logistics real estate provides information on intelligent monitoring systems that enable better monitoring and optimization of energy consumption. In several expert workshops, members of the Logix Initiative and the Logistics Real Estate Working Group of the Federal Association of Logistics (BVL) developed a standard that the systems should meet. The brochure includes a sample construction description that stakeholders can use as a guideline for equipping existing and new properties.
Dr. Malte-Maria Münchow, spokesperson for the Logistics Real Estate Initiative, emphasizes: “With these new publications, the Logix Initiative shows that we are addressing the most important trend topics. Together with our partners such as the BVL Logistics Real Estate Working Group and the ZIA (Central Real Estate Committee), we provide support for all those interested in these topics.”
