Duisburg Gateway Terminal (DGT) Celebrated Opening
Sep 17, 2024 at 4:57 PMUTA Edenred, one of the leading mobility service providers in Europe and part of the Edenred Group, and MAN Truck & Bus are collaborating on the digital service MAN SimplePay to provide drivers and fleet managers with a new user experience in vehicle and cost management.
(Kleinostheim) The MAN DigitalServices portfolio is being expanded with the MAN SimplePay service, which helps fleet operators create transparency about the operating costs of the entire fleet. This is made possible by allowing fuel and charging cards to be stored digitally in MAN SimplePay and prioritized per vehicle. In the user-friendly overview on the RIO platform, the costs of daily operations such as refueling, parking, and washing will be aggregated and displayed specifically for each vehicle – even for vehicles from other manufacturers.
Through the collaboration with UTA Edenred as a fuel card partner, fleet managers can integrate the UTA fuel cards used for their vehicles into the digital service. The MAN SimplePay dashboard thus provides a comprehensive overview of all fuel card transactions for each vehicle. The added value for users: simplified cost control, reduced effort, and easier identification of potential savings.
Truck Becomes a Rolling Fuel Card
By the end of the year, UTA Edenred’s digital fuel card functionality will be integrated into MAN SimplePay. Then, drivers will be able to process their fuel transactions digitally via the MAN Driver App or in the MAN Truck with the appropriate MAN media system. This contactless processing saves time as there is no need to go to the checkout and offers security advantages over the use of physical fuel cards.
“Our goal at UTA Edenred is to make mobility on Europe’s roads simpler, more efficient, and more sustainable with smart digital solutions,” says Pierre Jalady, CEO of UTA Edenred and General Manager of Edenred Mobility EMEA. “I am pleased that together with MAN Truck & Bus, we are taking an important step into the future of digital mobility experiences with the innovative service MAN SimplePay.”
“The brand promise of MAN is ‘Simplifying Business’, which means we simplify our customers’ daily work with our solutions and thereby increase their profitability. That is why we developed MAN SimplePay, a central platform for our customers that consolidates the operational costs of the entire fleet and enables contactless transactions for the driver,” adds Kerstin Rummel, Senior Vice President Commercial Service Operations at MAN Truck & Bus. “This increases transparency and efficiency in fleet management while simultaneously simplifying the driver’s daily routine.”
Convenient Processing in the Digital Acceptance Network
The fuel card functionality of MAN SimplePay will initially be available at around 3,500 fuel stations of various brands in Germany, Austria, Italy, and Belgium that are currently connected to UTA Edenred’s digital acceptance network. More stations and additional countries will be added in the coming months.
Not only does MAN SimplePay facilitate the processing of fuel transactions from the driver’s cabin, but it also allows bookings for parking spaces and vehicle as well as fuel cleaning services through the network of UTA Edenred partner TRAVIS Road Services.
Practically in case of breakdowns: MAN SimplePay will also allow for quick and easy confirmation of cost coverage for repair and workshop services, enabling fast and smooth vehicle maintenance.
“In the collaboration on MAN SimplePay, the strengths of MAN Truck & Bus and UTA Edenred come together perfectly. This way, we offer our joint customers a unique overall package that elevates the management of truck fleets to a new level,” says Richard Röhr, Director Commercial Road Transportation at UTA Edenred.
