Jul 12, 2024 at 6:43 PMWith numerous guests and project participants, GROUP7 celebrated the topping-out ceremony for the new company headquarters. On a 102,000 m2 plot, a 60,000 m2 service center and an office building with 5,000 m2 are being constructed. Additionally, 20,400 m2 of green space is planned. The investments for the construction project amount to approximately 48 million euros.
(Schwaig) The event was opened with speeches by Mayor Mücke and Deputy District Administrator Hofstetter, who praised the progress of the project. Mücke remarked, “It is incredibly impressive how quickly and dynamically the construction of this building has progressed.”
As part of the celebrations, Hofstetter presented the certificate for the Climate Pact Bavaria. “I would like to express our collective gratitude and recognition,” said Hofstetter. GROUP7 has been participating in the Environmental and Climate Pact Bavaria since 2007 and contributes to environmental protection with its voluntary services.
Insights into the Construction Project
GROUP7 board member Günther Jocher acknowledged the contributions of all involved: “I would especially like to thank the people who have played a key role in allowing us to set the topping-out crown today.” He also provided insights into the dimensions of the construction project: The hall roof will be supported by 380 wooden trusses, 2,022 precast concrete elements have been installed, and the foundation slab weighs an impressive 24,150 tons. The service center is set to be completed by the end of this year, while the office building will be ready for occupancy in the second quarter of 2025.
An Investment in the Future
The new building serves as an expansion for the rapidly growing company and triples the capacities at the Schwaig location. Technological highlights such as driverless transport systems and the latest scanning technologies will be implemented. These investments, along with the wide range of services that also include assembly and production, ensure that GROUP7 can continue to provide top-notch customer service in the future.
The office building will feature modern lounges, a rooftop terrace, numerous parking spaces, and an extensive park area that fosters personal interaction. Jocher emphasized, “As a family-owned business, we place great importance on the well-being of our employees. Our new building is designed to actively promote a sense of community and a positive working atmosphere.” A total of over 200 new jobs will be created in Schwaig.
Optimal Location
The new building is located just a stone’s throw from the previous site, in close proximity to the airport, the A92 motorway, the freight station in Riem, and downtown Munich. Additionally, the Schwaigerloh S-Bahn station is being constructed nearby.
