The Grundfos Supplier Awards recognize strong partnerships built on trust and collaboration, honoring suppliers who have excelled in 2023. One of the honored partners is the logistics service provider GEODIS.
(Bjerringbro/Levallois-Perret) The annual awards serve as both a reminder and a testament to these partnerships, which are based on mutual respect, shared values, and a commitment to excellence. The global partnership between GEODIS and Grundfos has existed for 38 years. GEODIS provides Grundfos with end-to-end logistics services, air and sea freight, as well as warehousing services worldwide. Since early 2022, GEODIS has been closely collaborating with Grundfos to reduce CO2 emissions in sea freight from port to port through the use of the INSETTING program GEODIS Sustainable Marine Fuel, which covers 100% of CO2 emissions. As a result of these efforts, Grundfos achieved a reduction of carbon emissions by 6,500 tons in 2023 and 2022.
Suppliers Play a Crucial Role
“Our suppliers play a crucial role in helping us achieve our goals, innovate, and deliver exceptional products to our customers worldwide. We continuously raise the bar for excellence, especially regarding sustainability and quality. This means that our requirements for suppliers are becoming increasingly stringent,” says Silvio Vanzo, Chief Purchasing Officer of Grundfos. “We are committed to professionalizing our processes for collaboration with suppliers and are very grateful to have outstanding suppliers like GEODIS who share and support our ambitions. Together, we drive progress, sustainability, and success, creating a better future for all stakeholders.”
Process for Reducing Carbon Emissions
“We are deeply honored to receive the award for indirect sustainability. We are fully committed to a process for reducing our carbon emissions through a scientifically-based approach. We are aware of the significant impact that logistics and transportation activities can have on the environment. We are also very aware that there is still much to be done, and we would like to thank Grundfos for the opportunity to collaborate and advance our efforts to develop responsible and sustainable logistics,” said Virginie Delcroix, Executive Vice President Group Sustainable Development, GEODIS.
Setting New Standards in Sustainable Logistics
Onno Boots, Regional President & CEO, GEODIS APAC & Middle East, said: “Since 1986, GEODIS has been proud to work with Grundfos to deliver end-to-end logistics worldwide. Our collaboration is characterized by innovative solutions, such as our Sustainable Marine Fuels program. We are committed to sustainability and have set ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our vehicle fleets and buildings by 42% by 2030 and the carbon intensity of subcontracted transport by 30%. Through our partnership with Grundfos, we are setting new standards in sustainable logistics and promoting mutual growth and environmental protection.”
