May 8, 2024 at 7:52 PMThe Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) places significant demands on small and medium-sized enterprises. Bureaucracy, as well as liability and legal risks, dominate the debate. The company mh2-experts has developed a comprehensive solution for this. It provides both the software and all operational services – including documentation obligations and technical-organizational measures.
The goal of mh2-experts: To largely automate all requirements of the LkSG and guarantee entrepreneurs a simple solution that allows them to sleep more peacefully.
The technological foundation of mh2-experts comes from Escriba AG, the leading German provider of no-code and low-code technologies for the digitalization of data- and document-intensive processes. “We cover everything – from risk analysis and risk assessment to initiating necessary measures and their tracking and evaluation, all the way to establishing and operating a complaints office. Everything is documented and continuously monitored. If desired, we even take on the role and function of the human rights officer,” explain mh2-experts Mathias Hess and Dr. Margarete Hetmanczyk.
Hess is an expert in IT-supported processes, digitalization, and automation, while Hetmanczyk specializes in procurement, supply chains, and international sourcing. In the combination of know-how and the technological foundation of Escriba, all aspects that are important for small and medium-sized enterprises and pose potential risks are considered and addressed: IT security, legal requirements, necessary reporting, as well as legal and formal issues that play a role both in using a software solution and regarding the LkSG. “This is an all-in-one solution, a complete digital LkSG service center with human professional backup,” say the experts.
Knowledge largely absent in most companies
“The monitoring and documentation obligations of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act are not trivial. And what comes from the European level is not even entirely clear. One thing is certain: It will not get easier. It makes sense to outsource this topic. The necessary knowledge is largely absent or only fragmentarily present in most companies, with the boundaries between procurement, compliance, HR, legal department, and management often unclear. A unified basis and an expert team in the background are needed, which medium-sized companies, already suffering from too much bureaucracy and documentation obligations, typically do not have. This is where we want to provide support,” say the mh2-experts.
