Apr 26, 2024 at 4:23 PMThe Lagermax Group achieved a record result in the past fiscal year 2023 with a total revenue of 730 million euros. This represents an increase of 12 percent compared to 2022. All business areas of the Lagermax Group performed excellently and contributed to this record result. The two board members, Alexander Friesz and Thomas Baumgartner, look back on the fiscal year 2023 with great satisfaction.
(Salzburg) Through the continuous expansion of existing business fields and service offerings, as well as acquisitions, the portfolio of the Lagermax Group has further broadened internationally, thereby better countering market fluctuations. Both existing and new customers benefit from this wide range of services with constantly improved offerings, the two board members agree.
Around 55 million euros were specifically invested in 2023 to expand and strengthen the Lagermax service portfolio (fixed assets and investments). The company took a majority stake in LogBATT GmbH in Plochingen, Germany, thereby strengthening its Green Logistics division. Additional synergies were achieved in the areas of disposal logistics and recycling, as well as in battery logistics.
With the acquisition of the Spanish motorcycle logistics company LVTmoto near Barcelona, Lagermax strengthened its European distribution network in two-wheeler logistics. In 2022, the Dutch motorcycle logistics specialist MOL Cargo was already integrated into the Salzburg Lagermax Group with a majority stake.
Green Logistics Has High Importance
To reduce ecological impacts while simultaneously operating efficiently, the Green Logistics sector holds high importance at Lagermax. Continuous necessary measures are implemented across all business areas. Investments range from increasing energy efficiency in warehousing, to the use of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) as fuel within the truck fleet, to electric vehicles and photovoltaic systems.
As a “Logistics Provider of the Future,” Lagermax values long-term collaboration with regional suppliers and partners. In 2023, efforts were intensified to optimize transport routes using IT-supported systems to reduce emissions.
To enable growth, the number of employees increased internationally to around 4,000. Continuous qualification and training of employees ensure high-quality services and secure the Lagermax Group’s special competencies within the industry.
Further Development Projects Planned
Further development projects are already planned for 2024, which will support the sustainable success of the company in the future. The focus is once again on optimized IT-supported processes and the expansion of the international network.
