GREIWING Establishes Warehouse for Herbs and Spices in Hamburg

From Anise to Cinnamon: GREIWING logistics for you GmbH is significantly expanding its service portfolio and is placing even greater focus on the handling of spices and herbs. To better meet the increased demands of customers, the logistics specialist is expanding its location in the Port of Hamburg. For this purpose, the corporate group has acquired a property of 28,000 square meters in Vollhöfner Weiden, making it one of the largest logistics centers for spices and herbs in Germany and Europe.

(Hamburg) At the new location, 20 employees will be employed. GREIWING operates under the name “GREIWING spice logistics for you” as a full-service provider, offering all food logistics services from import processing to value-added services to delivery to the end customer from a single source.

“Handling spices and herbs requires a high level of expertise and utmost care. Each product has its own requirements and characteristics and requires different treatments. Our corporate group has more than 70 years of experience in this field. With the expansion of our services in one of the largest seaports in Europe, we see enormous potential for expanding our activities in the food industry,” says Jürgen Greiwing, Managing Partner of GREIWING logistics for you GmbH. The 28,000 square meter property is located in Vollhöfner Weiden in Altenwerder and has 40,000 pallet spaces. Due to its proximity to the container terminals and the A7 motorway, customers benefit from short distances. “With our additional location, we are quadrupling our capacities and thus offering our customers an even broader range of services and more tailored solutions,” says Greiwing.

Recognized Veterinary Locations

The scope of services in food logistics primarily includes: de-metalization, sieving, cleaning, and sterilization in autoclaves. Depending on customer requirements, the extensive processing of all goods is individually possible. In addition, GREIWING takes care of import and export, container trucking, storage, and repackaging of goods as well as quality control. Both locations are approved customs warehouses and recognized veterinary locations.

For a unified appearance under one roof, all services are offered under the name “GREIWING spice logistics for you” in line with the existing company name. Greiwing explains: “This creates a central touchpoint for existing and new customers and clearly shows: We take care of everything!”
