Apr 11, 2024 at 12:16 PMYale Lift Truck Technologies has expanded its range of flexible warehouse forklifts. The new order picker was introduced at LogiMAT 2024. In dynamic warehouse and intralogistics applications, it contributes to optimized picking efficiency and can reduce costs for loading and unloading operations at trucks.
(Mayfield Heights) The MO20-30X series forklifts offer load capacities of two to three tons and feature many of the typical functions of a conventional Yale low-level order picker. At the same time, they stand out for their additional maneuverability during truck loading and unloading – orders can be picked and directly loaded onto a truck. Thanks to the intelligent design with a new driver position and improved ground clearance, the forklift can also be used on ramps. Different fork lengths and heights, as well as various driving modes, further contribute to flexibility.
“The new order picker from Yale is a multipurpose solution that offers companies more flexibility. They can reduce the number of forklifts needed in the warehouse and speed up processes,” explains Robert O’Donoghue, Vice President Marketing Solutions, Yale Lift Truck Technologies. Since loads do not need to be transferred from one forklift to another, this saves time and can help reduce the number of forklifts in a mixed operation, thereby keeping costs under control.
“Warehouses need to find ways to pick faster and more efficiently, not least because retail and e-commerce continue to grow,” says O’Donoghue. “When intralogistics companies rethink the setup and deployment of their fleets, they can complete picking orders on time while managing rising costs.”
Flexible and User-Friendly
The new order picker has been designed with a strong emphasis on ergonomics to enable efficient working for the operator. The driver can comfortably position themselves on a large platform, providing optimal visibility of the warehouse environment during each ride. With the adjustable scooter control, the driver can easily adjust the height to their needs. The tiller head ensures effortless operation.
“To meet the demands of different intralogistics environments, the new order picker must offer a variety of options,” explains O’Donoghue. “For example, it can be configured with the Yale Smart Lift function, which allows the operator to lift loads and move the fork truck even before the pallet is fully raised. New drivers often find this a very helpful addition that boosts productivity.”
A driver’s cabin is also available upon request, with the battery and motor compartment located behind the driver. To enhance the driving experience, various integrated lights and ergonomic handles with additional function buttons for lifting and lowering facilitate easier pallet handling when loading the truck. Additionally, a model for use in cold storage is available.
Efficient Fleet Management Solution
An efficient fleet management solution is available to warehouses with the Yale Vision telematics system. This allows them to optimize the use of forklifts and predict maintenance needs. This technology and the support of the local Yale dealer network help increase uptime and keep pace with demand in fast-paced intralogistics applications.
