Mar 10, 2024 at 11:24 AMThe Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Construction and Transport and the Logistics Initiative Bavaria are announcing for the year 2024 the third edition of the award “Logistics | is Female” under the patronage of State Minister Christian Bernreiter. The award honors logistics professionals for their courageous actions in the context of equal opportunities and the compatibility of work & family.
(Nuremberg) On International Women’s Day 2024, the initiative “Logistics | is Female” will again honor individuals and companies for their special commitment in the transport and logistics sector. As part of the initiative, the Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Construction and Transport, together with the Logistics Initiative Bavaria, aims to further strengthen the transport and logistics sector in the Free State of Bavaria regarding equal opportunities, workplace attractiveness, and fair advancement opportunities.
“We still have a significant shortage of skilled workers in the transport & logistics sector. Therefore, we want to convince women of the opportunities in this industry again this year and are jointly announcing the award ‘Logistics is Female’ for the third time with the Logistics Initiative Bavaria and CNA e.V.,” explains Bavaria’s Transport Minister Christian Bernreiter. “As patron, I look forward to many applications that will showcase the high attractiveness of this very important sector for Bavaria.”
The current results of the Logistics Barometer Bavaria show that the diverse activities of recent years under the patronage of the ministry are beginning to bear fruit. A year ago, only 26 percent of the surveyed experts believed that the sector was attractive for women, while this year it was already 30 percent of respondents. The sector has begun to change! “This is a truly encouraging development that the logistics networks in Bavaria, together with associations and with the support of the ministry, have been able to initiate. The continuation of the initiative ‘Logistics | is Female’ is thus a consistent and important step to further raise awareness of this diverse topic in the sector,” explains Dr. Rudolf Aunkofer | Managing Director of CNA e.V., who coordinates the initiative with his team.
