Jeroen Gerritsen has been appointed General Manager for Belgium and will lead the new business. The market entry is a logical strategic step for the project developer Panattoni, which also has market-leading expertise in Germany in providing high-quality, sustainable logistics properties.
(Hamburg) With its significant ports and excellent connections to key European markets, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, Belgium is an important link in the European logistics sector. Due to its favorable location, the country is also an attractive site for the establishment of multifunctional logistics facilities. There is a growing demand in Belgium for high-quality and sustainable logistics facilities, which aligns perfectly with Panattoni’s commitment to making all new projects CO2-free by 2025. The first project in Belgium is expected to be developed in Wallonia, with construction set to begin in the fall.
Robert Dobrzycki, CEO and co-owner of Panattoni Europe, the UK, and India, explains: “Belgium is a central hub in the European logistics sector. By developing sustainable real estate solutions tailored to the specific needs of the Belgian market, we aim to contribute to the further development and sustainability of Belgian infrastructure and provide our clients with the opportunity to establish themselves in Belgium.”
Jeroen Gerritsen, General Manager Belgium, adds: “We are optimistic about the opportunities that the Belgian market offers us and look forward to operating on-site, building relationships, and growing in this dynamic logistics environment. We are excited to soon present our offering of future-proof, multifunctional commercial spaces in Belgium.”
To support the expansion, Panattoni has appointed Joren van Hout as Technical Development Director for Belgium. Further appointments will follow shortly. With over 12 years of experience in the public and private construction sector, including at Heylen Warehouses and as a project manager for the municipality of Westerlo in the province of Antwerp, Van Hout brings valuable knowledge and experience.
Responsible for Relationships
In his new role as Director of Technical Development, Van Hout will maintain relationships with the public sector, construction companies, architects, engineering firms, and other technical consulting companies. In project development, he will also be responsible for technical due diligence processes, project management, and budgeting.
