Kardex and Addverb Start Strategic Partnership
Jan 23, 2024 at 7:36 PMTX Logistik AG is expanding its transport services in intermodal rail freight traffic between Lübeck and Italy. To this end, the railway logistics company, which is part of Mercitalia Logistics responsible for the logistics division of the FS Italiane Group, has added a new connection to its schedule.
(Troisdorf) Since the beginning of January, TX Logistik has been operating twice a week from the CTL terminal in Lübeck to the Quadrante Europa terminal in Verona and back.
The new route is operated as an open train system. The main customer is the freight forwarder Bode based in Lübeck. The transport primarily consists of semi-trailers, NiKRASA, containers, and tank containers. Up to 32 loading units can fit on one train. Loading days in Lübeck are Tuesdays and Saturdays, while in Verona they are Saturdays and Thursdays. The trains take approximately 24 hours for the roughly 1,240-kilometer route via Munich, Kufstein, and Brenner.
At the beginning of the year, TX Logistik also increased the number of trips between Lübeck and Segrate in the metropolitan area of Milan from four to six. The reason for the higher frequency is the increased demand and, consequently, additional volume being transported on the route. In addition to the previous departures on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday from Lübeck and on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from Segrate, TX Logistik has added departures on Monday and Thursday from Lübeck and on Wednesday and Saturday from Segrate to the schedule. The trains operate between the BRG terminal in Lübeck and the Terminal Italia Milano Segrate east of Milan. This route transports trailers, NiKRASA, containers, and tank containers. The capacity is 32 loading units per train.
Traction with own equipment and drivers
TX Logistik takes care of the traction on both the connection between Lübeck and Verona and the route between Lübeck and Segrate with its own drivers and modern multi-system locomotives.
