Oct 26, 2023 at 7:08 PMproject44, the leading platform for Supply Chain Visibility, today announced that the Roland Corporation (“Roland”) has chosen Movement by project44 as its supply chain visibility solution. Roland, a leading manufacturer of electronic musical instruments, is using Movement to enhance visibility in sea transport and improve on-time delivery. At the same time, the logistics processes are to be optimized for greater efficiency.
(Rostock/Tokyo) Roland ships approximately 4,000 containers annually to ports around the world, including North America, Europe, and Asia. To improve the flexibility and agility of its supply chain, the company has evaluated solutions for freight transparency. Key criteria included global real-time tracking capabilities, data accuracy, and visualization of port status information. Movement meets these evaluation criteria perfectly.
“The pandemic and other unforeseen events have disrupted supply chains, significantly impacting on-time delivery performance and increasing the workload in our teams,” explains Morihisa Nakamura, Manager, Supply Planning and Operation Group, Production Control Department at Roland. “We want to be prepared for the next disruption. project44 provides the advanced transparency we need to work more efficiently and achieve greater predictability for our supply chain.”
Planning Freight Movements More Effectively
Morihisa Nakamura further explains that Roland can plan freight movements more effectively with Movement. Since the solution consolidates data from all modes of transport and regions on a single platform, the company expects to reduce the workload in the logistics department by 30 percent through the use of Movement. He also anticipates that Roland will be able to provide carriers with timely feedback on transport routes based on the real-time delivery transparency and analytics from project44. “This way, we can meet and improve the specified lead times. The partnership with project44 will make our supply chain more flexible, allowing our supply chain experts to spend more time on strategic tasks.”
“We are constantly innovating to provide our customers with the greatest possible benefits,” says Yuji Kuwahara, GM and VP of Sales at project44, Japan. “With our new AI-powered enhancements, we go beyond basic modal visibility and provide the advanced insights and automation that customers need to simplify even the most complex challenges in the supply chain. It is an honor for us to work with Roland on a more resilient supply chain that enhances the customer experience while also enabling cost savings and efficiency improvements.”
