The Antric GmbH has introduced its new Cargobike. The Antric EVO_1 from the Bochum-based Cargobike manufacturer is completely newly designed and also targets international markets. While the well-known core strengths of an Antric cargo bike remain, the riding and handling comfort has been further improved, and some essential innovations have been made. The EVO_1 is consistently oriented towards its animal model, the ant: small, robust, and with high load capacity.
The new Antric EVO_1 adopts the avant-garde design language of its predecessor, the Antric One, with its fully integrated driver’s cabin made of weatherproof and waterproof softshell. However, the company has clearly focused on global markets and their regulations with its new Cargobike. The new cargo bike now rides with significantly more compact dimensions on bike paths and roads, as well as through underground garages, buildings, or underpasses. The Antric EVO_1 now measures 999 mm in width (181 mm less than its predecessor), 1,951 mm in height (69 mm less), and 2,983 mm in length. This has further improved user-friendliness, and the cargo bike is even more versatile in its applications.
The electrification of fleets will change the business model of logistics companies, food businesses, facility management, crafts, and also the leisure sector, bringing opportunities for competitive advantages on multiple levels. Enormous Driving Stability and High Tipping Safety
The 4-wheeled concept of the Antric Cargobike ensures enormous driving stability, high tipping safety, and very good suspension comfort. The EVO_1 is equally narrow at the front and rear, giving drivers confidence when maneuvering through tight spots. The load-relevant components in the Antric do not come from the bicycle industry but from the automotive sector and are specifically designed for the permissible total weight and the requirements of the Antric. The spacious cargo area concept of the Antric remains intact despite the significantly more compact external dimensions. The loading volume is 2.2 m³, and the payload increases to 291 kg. The internal dimensions of the structure remain virtually unchanged, allowing a Euro pallet or two standard mesh roll containers to be loaded without any issues.
The Antric EVO_1 features two slots for SuperPack LongLife exchangeable batteries, each with 1.44 kWh for a range of 50 km. The exchangeable batteries, housed in a lockable and weather-protected compartment, can be swapped in seconds. The EVO_1 comes standard with one SuperPack Longlife exchangeable battery. The batteries are based on lithium iron phosphate cell technology (LiFePO4), are cobalt-free, and are characterized by a long lifespan (at least 3000 charge cycles).

First Deliveries by the End of November
The new Antric EVO_1 is now available for order. The first deliveries are expected to begin by the end of November. The recommended retail price will not change despite internationally higher raw material prices compared to the predecessor model and starts at €20,274 net plus VAT and plus delivery for the Antric EVO_1 with box body including one exchangeable battery and one charger.
The new EVO_1 features a fully suspended chassis with independent wheel suspension and specially manufactured 16-inch high-performance wheels from the automotive industry to transport goods and items confidently. This also benefits the drivers. In combination with the comfortable, breathable seat instead of a saddle, the new five-fold adjustable crankset, as well as ergonomically designed pedals and handle grips, the new EVO_1 reduces the strain on drivers while working. Convenient and efficient in operation, the new parking brake, which is located directly on the crankset, integrates into the driver’s workflow. The brake is engaged with a step on the brake pedal and released in the same manner. The new driver information display includes several pieces of information such as odometer, driving modes, speed, and battery charge level, as well as various indicator lights. When reversing, it also serves as a rearview monitor, displaying objects behind the cargo bike via a rearview camera.
Weather Protection and Driving Comfort
The EVO_1 features, like its predecessor, a full weather protection made of waterproof softshell. The entry and exit are always on the side away from traffic as standard. However, the Antric EVO_1 can also be ordered with access that opens on both sides at no extra charge. The side windows are further recessed to better protect the driver from wet weather. The floor is equipped with a non-slip surface for the safety of the drivers and is nearly closed, providing optimal weather protection and protection from objects on the roads and paths. The Antric EVO_1 features a 5-level electric pedal assistance up to 25 km/h and a purely electric maneuvering aid forward and backward up to 6 km/h. A rearview camera ensures good visibility to the rear, which also monitors the rear door when stationary. The Antric is unlocked and locked again via keyless entry. The side doors are also made accessible via RFID. The side doors are unlocked using two push buttons. A green LED border signals whether the doors are released or not. If the driver moves away from the vehicle, the doors lock automatically.
