HGK Inaugurates New Company Headquarters in Cologne-Niehl
Oct 17, 2023 at 3:59 PMThe duisport Group consolidates the expertise and strengths of its subsidiaries in the field of industrial logistics under the new brand duisport industrial solutions. Customers benefit from the complete service portfolio of the new unit with more than 500 employees at over 30 locations worldwide. Whether light or heavy, standardized or bulky – the competencies encompass the entire product range around industrial and export packaging for machinery and plant engineering.
(Duisburg) From the delivery of high-quality and innovative packaging systems to classic export packaging, from complete project management and document management to factory logistics including spare parts warehouses at customer branches – duisport industrial solutions is one of the market leaders in its industry.
To strengthen the perception of the new group as a common brand for the industrial logistics segment and to offer the entire service portfolio from a single source, almost all German subsidiaries of the duisport Group in the fields of packaging logistics and industrial goods packaging have been renamed in a first step and now operate under the names duisport industrial solutions (export packaging and logistics services) and duisport packaging solutions (packaging systems). All activities of the unit are managed by Christian Staudner and Jan-Malte Wöhrle.
Knowledge and expertise from a single source
duisport CEO Markus Bangen: “Internationally networked logistics solutions require uniform processes and standards. With the restructuring and harmonization of our activities in packaging and industrial logistics, we are taking an important step into the future, increasing our competitiveness in this area, and can open up new market segments in the future.”
“With the new structure, we create a comprehensive offering of all services in the field of packaging and industrial logistics in Europe and worldwide. We can offer our customers tailored solutions anytime and anywhere,” says Christian Staudner.
“By bundling knowledge and expertise and developing common standards, we also avoid unnecessary duplication of work, strengthen the idea of sustainability, and can grow more easily both nationally and internationally,” adds Jan-Malte Wöhrle.
IT harmonization enables digitization of supply chains
Further synergies arise from the harmonization of IT systems and the digitization of the entire supply chain: In the future, customers will be able to track and monitor all logistical processes seamlessly. Whether packaging, order picking, goods receipt, or internal transport – whether at the customer’s plant, at one of the consolidation locations, or at the supplier, regardless of whether in India, China, Poland, Germany, France, or Belgium.
Duisport entered the market of specialized packers for machinery and plant engineering in 2007 with the acquisition of the Essen-based VTS Group. In 2010, VTS became duisport packing logistics, or dpl for short. With the acquisition of the majority stake in the Weinzierl Group in 2014, the service portfolio was significantly expanded to include packaging systems. Since then, the packaging logistics division has continuously grown both nationally and internationally. dpl has evolved from traditional crate manufacturers and packers to a renowned logistics service provider for industrial goods packaging as well as a manufacturer of innovative and high-quality packaging systems.
New logo symbolizes development
The renaming is accompanied by a modernization of the entire external appearance – from business cards to signage and work clothing: The new look continues to show the connection to the duisport Group and is therefore adapted to the new design of the duisport logo. The new logo represents the potential development of the industrial goods packaging division. The graphic symbol shows the origin of the company: a crate representing the over 50-year history of the company. The element at the top right is unfolded – symbolically representing the expansion and development of the brand towards industrial logistics. It grows from the extensive experience of all group members, which are brought together in the three elements of the crate. Together, these three elements form the “d” of duisport – and for customers, a comprehensive range of packaging and industrial logistics solutions.
