Aug 29, 2023 at 11:34 AMThe tricargo Radlogistik Hamburg GmbH offers logistics services with cargo bikes in the Hanseatic city. Together with the associated cooperative, tricargo is building its own e-transport bike in Hamburg, aptly named “Lademeister”. It is equipped with a large payload for commercial use and optimized for fast workflows, maneuverability, and ergonomics. The tricargo team is extremely innovative and proves that you can achieve something even with a tight budget.
(Hamburg) The tricargo Radlogistik Hamburg GmbH provides city logistics in Hamburg on the so-called last mile. Transport is carried out exclusively with e-cargo bikes, and with the “Lademeister”, the innovative owners have also developed their own cargo bike.
The goods are transported safely, emission-free, and customer-friendly with tricargo. With a team of 35 motivated drivers, reliable and socially sustainable logistics are offered in Hamburg. One component of the services is event logistics. In the midst of public traffic at large events, flexible deliveries are offered with the cargo bikes.
A Cargobike for all occasions
To be as flexible as possible, tricargo has developed its own cargobike with the Lademeister, which is also built in Hamburg. How this came about is explained by board member and co-founder Björn Fischer: “We developed the Lademeister for the commercial delivery everyday life. In our own logistics division, it is used daily and provides long-term test results for development. The design always follows the function. Only what promotes practicality is installed.”
The e-transport bike “Lademeister” enables various industries to have climate-neutral and practical transport in the city. Whether parcel delivery or landscape maintenance: different modules can be attached to the Lademeister with just six screws. Depending on the needs, practical features are mounted so that everyone is on the road with the optimal equipment for them.
The Lademeister can also turn in the tightest spots
Fischer further explains: “The longevity of the Lademeister is important to us. All components are designed for the harsh conditions in the logistics industry. Wear parts are easily accessible and can be easily maintained.”
Also in terms of maneuverability, no one can outdo the Lademeister. With a steering angle of over 90° and a starting aid, it can be easily steered through narrow city centers. Even turning on the spot is possible.
Vision of a livable city for people and nature
In 2015, Björn Fischer first brainstormed with a few cycling enthusiasts to consider how they could get closer to their vision of a livable city for people and nature. Driven by the thought that more must be possible with transport bikes than just blasting the Critical Mass with ever-larger sound systems, they quickly founded the tricargo Radlogistik Hamburg UG in 2016.
The Lademeister is a space miracle
They started with a purchased e-transport bike and produced a transport box for it themselves. The purchased tricycle could not withstand everyday stresses, so the engineers made various technical improvements. Due to many customer inquiries, three more bikes were procured and technically upgraded. However, the results achieved were not satisfactory, so the team soon developed the first in-house constructions.
From the beginning, it was clear that work should also be designed to be socially sustainable. Tolerant and respectful behavior, consensus, cooperation, and open communication are values that are firmly rooted in the foundations of tricargo. From the conviction that a sustainable future can only be achieved through the active participation of many different people, the tricargo cooperative was founded in 2018. The product development of transport bikes has since become the core business of tricargo eG.
On the road since 2020
After building four prototypes, many deployments in bike logistics, and subsequent optimizations, the Lademeister stands for the first time in 2020 as a fully developed, practical, and reliable transport bike in the home hall in Hamburg Altona.
