Vectura processes up to 150 pallets per hour thanks to Dematic

Dematic has completed an automated buffering and sequencing system for Vectura AS, the leading distributor and logistics provider for alcoholic beverages in Norway. The intelligent automation technology provider installed a solution capable of processing up to 150 pallets per hour while simultaneously sequencing up to 460 pallets. This system is intended to accelerate logistics processes at Vectura AS and enable the company to provide an even more efficient and responsive service.

(Offenbach/Gjelleråsen) The new system represents an upgrade to Vectura AS’s automated pallet warehouse in Gjelleråsen near Oslo. With a market share of 52 percent in Norway, Vectura delivers a total of 50 million pallets annually to wholesalers, the hotel and gastronomy sector, as well as to state-owned Vinmonopolet stores. These stores hold the national monopoly in Norway for the sale of beverages with an alcohol content of more than 4.75 percent. The integrated dynamic pallet shipping buffer in the Dematic system allows Vectura a higher degree of automation for order preparation and processing.

The automated buffering and sequencing system has been installed on an intermediate floor structure of approximately 700 square meters. It spans two levels to make optimal use of the available space. On one level, the pallets are prepared and buffered, and then they are transferred to the other level in the shipping area using an elevator and transfer carts. This enables the system to process up to 150 pallets per hour while simultaneously sequencing up to 460 pallets.
