BTK Receives Third Porcelain Lion as Bavaria’s Best 50
Jul 25, 2023 at 7:07 PMAbout two years ago, the groundbreaking ceremony for the major new beginning of TransPack-Krumbach took place. Today, the centralized location in Neuburg an der Kammel is fully completed. On the new 32,000 sqm company premises, a state-of-the-art logistics center has been successfully put into operation, featuring a 16-meter high warehouse and a total of 10 loading ramps. Together with the two-story office building, the new company area provides space for nearly 80 employees today.
(Neuburg an der Kammel) Over 8,000 products from the packaging sector find space in the new high-bay warehouse in Neuburg a. d. Kammel. Not only has the capacity been significantly expanded with the new spacious hall, but the entire logistics concept has also been optimized. The state-of-the-art storage and processing system, with wide and narrow aisle systems, is perfectly tailored to the heterogeneous range of packaging materials and enables efficient and fast operational processes. The in-house production with all necessary machines for customer-specific orders has been accommodated on a mezzanine floor. In the southern part of the warehouse building, the packaging materials are loaded onto the company’s own truck fleet as well as external shipping service providers. The possibilities for warehouse expansion directly adjacent to the premises create logistical potential for the future growth that is being pursued.
Energy-Efficient and Sustainable Construction
Great emphasis was placed on energy-efficient and sustainable construction according to KfW 55 standards for both the office building and the warehouse during the planning phase. For this purpose, over 1,800 PV modules were installed on the roof of the warehouse. The company premises are heated via a wood chip system using district heating. The facility is located right next to the company premises and was put into operation for the first time with the establishment of the new industrial area in Neuburg a. d. Kammel. It supplies local companies with eco-energy, allowing for a complete avoidance of fossil fuels. Electric vehicle drivers will have access to charging stations powered by self-generated green electricity in the company parking lot.
Consistent and Modern Design
Another focus of the new construction concept was a consistent and modern design. The 16-meter high facade of the hall is entirely black and is only interrupted by the 4-meter high TransPack-Krumbach logo in yellow. The adjacent two-story office building stands out from the facade with alternating sloping brown Alucobond panels. The interior also reflects a clear and understated design. Natural materials such as wooden slat walls, combined with yellow accents, break up the modern design in black and gray, creating a pleasant working environment.
