VDR Welcomes 18 Most Important Shipping Nations of the World in Berlin
Jun 21, 2023 at 3:57 PMThe Cargo Trans Logistik (CTL) AG has, for the first time in its history, surpassed 180 partners. Newly added are four branches of Emons. Emons operates over 20 of its own general cargo locations within a private German network and strengthens this, among other things, through cooperation with CTL. This, in turn, creates an even denser network that offers high quality and stability despite volatile shipment volumes.
(Homburg/Efze) Especially in regions with high incoming volumes, these quantities can now be processed significantly more efficiently. At the transport logistic, the world’s leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT, and supply chain management, CTL board member Francesco De Lauso and Robert Fleischer, a member of the management board of Emons, met to discuss the future challenges of the market.
“To ensure reliable and stable transit times even in times of more volatile shipment volumes, we are always looking for new partners. We have found with Emons that we share a similar philosophy and can leverage synergies together,” says CTL CEO Francesco De Lauso. With the addition of the four Emons branches in Duisburg, Hallbergmoos, Bexbach, and Himmelkron, the number of CTL partners rises to 180.
The new locations contribute to further densification of the CTL network. “The distances in the follow-up transport are reduced to under 36 kilometers. This ensures more reliable delivery and high flexibility,” says De Lauso. Especially in the metropolitan region of Munich, but also in Duisburg and Saarland, the general cargo cooperation creates double coverage for more efficient processing of shipment peaks.
Similar Shipment Structure
Robert Fleischer, a member of the management board of Emons, comments on the collaboration with CTL: “We are similarly positioned in terms of mindset and shipment structure and need partners who, like us, operate as general cargo experts in the market. Since we work within our network with our own branches, we carefully examine where we face growth and challenges regarding shipment processing. As a medium-sized company, our goal is clear: we want to develop together with CTL and enter into a long-term partnership.”
