Jun 1, 2023 at 4:03 PMHellmann Worldwide Logistics has acquired PKZ Group, its long-standing air and sea freight partner in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, and is simultaneously establishing its own Slovak subsidiary. With the acquisition of the 10 locations of PKZ Group, Hellmann is closing a gap in its existing road network in the segment of partial and full loads, enabling sustainable growth in this existing product area.
(Osnabrück/Bratislava) At the same time, Hellmann is taking over the services previously provided by PKZ Group in the areas of air and sea freight, rail transport, and contract logistics, thus creating the conditions to continuously expand the cross-product market share through its own subsidiary.
“We are excited to expand our activities under the Hellmann flag in Slovakia after nearly 30 years of successful collaboration with PKZ Group in the air and sea freight sector and to broaden our product portfolio. We see great potential in both markets, particularly in the automotive and industrial products sectors, which will play an important role in further connecting our pan-European partial and full load network,” says Jens Tarnowski, Regional CEO West Europe, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
“The acquisition of PKZ Group is an important contribution to the implementation of our growth strategy. Under Martin Kiaba’s leadership, PKZ has experienced very successful development. We will now continue to build on these successes as part of the global Hellmann network,” adds Andreas Lamping, Chief Legal Officer/ Head of M&A, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
“Based on our long-standing good cooperation, we are now starting a new chapter. I am convinced that with this strategically important step, we will further strengthen our market position and provide our employees with a great opportunity to develop within the global Hellmann structure,” says Martin Kiaba, Managing Director Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Slovakia.
