Apr 19, 2023 at 2:05 PMIn early May, the green fodder harvest begins in Germany – for nox, this marks the start of this year’s Weekend Service. Until the end of the harvest season, the NightExpress service provider will deliver urgently needed spare parts on now seven instead of five days a week – even on Sundays and public holidays.
(Langenfeld) Each night, between May and October, around 7,000 recipients in agriculture are supplied with spare parts. The total number of recipients in the agricultural industry served by nox nationwide is about 60,000.
With the Weekend Service, the premium service provider for deliveries before work begins has traditionally supported the agricultural industry and its customers for over 50 years – and this is in response to increasing demand. Especially in economically strained times, the timely availability of spare parts for farmers – without their own stockpiling – is extremely important. “With the Weekend Service, we help farmers avoid existentially threatening harvest failures. Because when harvesting can take place is determined by weather conditions, not the readiness of the harvesting machines,” says Eduard Siegle, industry expert in the agricultural sector at nox NightExpress.
Orders placed by early evening are delivered the same night
During the harvest season, all parts ordered from the manufacturer by early evening reach their recipients the following night – regardless of whether they are small parts like screws and filters or compact engine blocks. “Between pickup and delivery, there are mostly a maximum of 12 hours during this crucial time for the agricultural industry,” says Siegle.
The urgently awaited shipments are delivered before 8:00 AM, and if necessary, even before 7:00 AM or 6:00 AM the next day – thus before the first crow of the rooster. Thanks to the low traffic during the night hours and a sophisticated network, even international shipments reach their recipients – depending on the destination and pickup time – before 8:00 AM. Pickup from a regional collection point is also offered, from which farmers are then supplied in direct trips.
Delivery is contactless
Delivery is contactless to pre-defined, locked drop-off locations or goods sluices. If desired, the parts can also be delivered directly to the field. Shipments are scanned at each handover within the supply chain, so the current shipment status is always accessible. Recipients receive security regarding where and in what condition the spare parts were delivered through the transmission of GPS data as well as photographic evidence.
