Daimler Truck Subsidiary Agrees to Acquire Algolux
Mar 21, 2023 at 4:55 PMIvanti Wavelink, the supply chain business unit of Ivanti, and Zebra Technologies Corporation today announced the integration of Ivanti Wavelink and Zebra’s autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) in warehouse and manufacturing facilities. The combined solution will increase productivity and throughput while allowing employees to focus on high-value tasks.
(Frankfurt) For customers needing to streamline complex material flow processes, the partnership accelerates automation efficiency by integrating Ivanti Wavelink’s Velocity voice control platform with Zebra’s Fetch AMRs. Zebra’s AMRs can now be controlled via Velocity apps or voice commands on robust mobile devices from Zebra, without requiring changes to the host WMS, ERP, or other enterprise systems. By employing robots for repetitive and heavy lifting tasks, manual material handling can be reduced by up to 50 percent, enhancing productivity, streamlining workflows, and improving safety.
“Our customers recognize that automation is key to the future of their operations and are ready to invest in strategies and solutions that will get them to their goals quickly,” said Jim Lawton, General Manager and Vice President, Robotics Automation, Zebra Technologies. “The integration of Ivanti Wavelink’s Velocity platform with our Fetch AMRs provides the kind of sophistication our customers are looking for – in this case, the integration of voice commands with AMRs to get the work done quickly, accurately, and without friction.”
Through the Velocity platform, Zebra’s AMRs are instructed to perform work steps, which is particularly beneficial for tasks requiring material movements and transports. Additionally, Ivanti Neurons for IIoT provides customers with insights into the status of the AMRs, so they know what task each robot is working on and what delays or interruptions may occur.
“This partnership is another example of how our ‘hands-off the host application’ approach, which is at the core of Ivanti Wavelink’s Velocity platform, can contribute to increased productivity, accuracy, and safety. Since Velocity works with existing enterprise applications without the need to migrate or change the host application, implementation time is minimal,” said Brandon Black, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Ivanti Wavelink. “Velocity unifies the interaction between robots, mobile devices, and software on a single, extensible platform that can grow with any size enterprise. This allows companies to improve their business outcomes through operational efficiency.
