Nordpack Launches Ecological Insulation Packaging

It is now possible to sustainably ship temperature-sensitive goods nationwide. Nordpack has developed its own insulation packaging: the Eco Vlies Box and the Eco Vlies Bag. The biodegradable bag is made from recycled paper, which is wrapped in a fleece material. The paper lining can be disposed of in the recycling bin after use, thus re-entering the cycle.

(Isernhagen) Stefan Grauer, shop manager of the online butcher shop “Der Schwarzwälder.com” in Glottertal, fully relies on the Eco Vlies Bag. “With the sustainable Eco Vlies packaging and our ecological value chain – own breeding, short transport routes, own slaughtering, no intermediaries – we offer sustainable shopping for a better future. A package from us shipped nationwide from the Black Forest,” Grauer continues, “is more sustainable than buying the same products next door at the supermarket. The advantages are clear: protection of the environment, reduction of costs, and no cumbersome packaging waste for our customers.”

The principle of combining recycled paper and fleece wrapping is also found in the innovative cooler box – the Eco Vlies Box. Shipping pharmacies, meal kit providers, and other customers from the e-commerce sector that conduct temperature-controlled transport can now benefit from this innovative ecological solution.

Ecological Disposable Cooling Elements

For Sven Janowski, responsible for these innovations at Nordpack, the CO2 footprint of the cooling packaging plays a crucial role: “Based on this, we have developed packaging that meets biological and sustainable aspects and guarantees temperature-controlled shipping from 2° to 8° C for up to 48 hours.” In addition, Nordpack offers ecological disposable cooling elements that ensure the desired temperature. Cooling elements, Eco Vlies Box, and Eco Vlies Bag are also individually printable.
