Güttler Logistics Becomes New Partner in the CTL Network
Feb 28, 2023 at 10:41 AMPanattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics properties in Europe, celebrated the handover of the new Panattoni Park Freiburg South on February 24, 2023, together with HORNBACH Baumarkt AG. The celebrations in Neuenburg am Rhein, Baden-Württemberg, were attended by the mayor of the city of Neuenburg, as well as representatives from HORNBACH, Panattoni, and other project participants.
(Hamburg/Neuenburg am Rhein) HORNBACH Baumarkt AG, based in Bornheim near Landau in the Palatinate, is a family-run company and is one of the largest operators of DIY and garden stores in Europe. In Neuenburg am Rhein, the well-known DIY store company now has approximately 13,900 m² of total usable space available. This includes about 12,100 m² of hall space, 1,000 m² of office and social space, and 800 m² of mezzanine space. The outdoor areas of the Panattoni Park Freiburg South provide space for 46 cars and 3 trucks. HORNBACH plans to use the new location as a fulfillment and regional warehouse in the future.
“With the new location in Neuenburg am Rhein, we are successfully expanding our logistics network in an optimal way. We look forward to officially opening the location on March 13, 2023, with the delivery of the first goods for the fulfillment warehouse,” explains Marc Heider, head of the Neuenburg logistics center at HORNBACH Baumarkt AG.
Former Hazardous Material Warehouse
Panattoni developed the property on the approximately 23,800 m² site of a former hazardous material warehouse in the industrial area of Neuenburg. Located directly at the French border, in the tri-border area of Germany, France, and Switzerland, the Panattoni Park Freiburg South has excellent access to the A5 motorway and the B378 federal road.
As part of the project development, Panattoni not only carried out extensive demolition measures but also implemented a variety of sustainability measures. In addition to the installation of a WGK III foil (water hazard class) and preparatory measures for the installation of a photovoltaic system, modern VRF heat pump technology was installed, enabling heating and cooling of the office area. This allowed for certification according to the DGNB Gold standard for the new property.
A Strong Sign for the Economic Location
“Our city warmly welcomes HORNBACH Baumarkt AG. The establishment of this successful family-run large company sends a strong signal for the economic location of Neuenburg. The successful revitalization of the previously unused property by Panattoni also provides great added value: The jobs created contribute to employment and growth,” says Joachim Schuster, mayor of Neuenburg, on the occasion of the handover.
Modern and Sustainable Spaces
“We are pleased that HORNBACH Baumarkt AG is once again moving into one of our Panattoni Parks,” says Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni Germany and Austria. “Even in the attractive region of the tri-border area, we are providing the well-known DIY store company with modern and sustainable spaces that precisely meet the needs of the company. We thank all parties involved for the trusting coordination and collaboration,” Fred-Markus Bohne further explains.
