Hapag-Lloyd Acquires Stake in J M Baxi Ports & Logistics Ltd
Jan 26, 2023 at 3:50 PMHellmann Worldwide Logistics has opened a new branch in Neumünster. From the location, which is 50 km north of Hamburg, the road activities in Schleswig-Holstein are to be further expanded. The goal is to expand the own network in the strategically important region between Hamburg and the Danish border and to establish additional groupage lines. At the same time, the logistics provider aims to further penetrate the Scandinavian market through strategic expansion in the north. With the opening of the new location, Hellmann is also responding to the increased demand for short-term available storage options between the Port of Hamburg and Scandinavia.
(Osnabrück) Both the location and the technically and energetically modern logistics facility, which spans 4,500 m2, offer long-term and strategic advantages for the distribution network. The new branch also holds corresponding growth capacities for the needs of existing and new customers. At the same time, the location will be integrated into the groupage network NG.network, which successfully launched under the new brand on January 1, 2023. As the largest partner in the network, Hellmann is now represented with 17 branches in the cooperation and is significantly driving the further development of the joint nationwide network in Germany as a shareholder with NG.network.
“The decision to open our own branch in Neumünster had various reasons: The region in the triangle of Neumünster, Crivitz near Schwerin, and Hamburg offers significant potential, especially in the food industry and renewable energies, which we want to utilize even better in the future. By selecting this location, we strengthen the network and thus our capacity and service quality. In terms of strengthening the transport axis between Germany and Scandinavia, the logistics hub also offers optimal opportunities regarding handling volume and flexibility,” said Jonathan Adeoye, COO Road Germany & West Europe, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
