Jan 7, 2023 at 6:46 PMAt the turn of the year, the Rhenus Group acquired the silo transport service provider Nederlandse Transport Maatschappij B.V. (NTM). With the acquisition of the company based in Hardenberg, the internationally operating logistics service provider is expanding its expertise in silo transport of bulk and powdery goods.
(Holzwickede/Hardenberg) NTM has several locations at the German-Dutch border and offers cross-border services in Europe. Founded in the 1970s, the transport service provider became part of the German Sievert Logistics Group in 2010. The transport ranges from construction materials to sensitive GMP and chemical products, minerals, and plastic granules. Additional value-added services such as warehousing, order picking, quality controls, repacking of big bags, and packaging solutions complement the logistics provider’s offerings.
“We are pleased to expand our expertise and services in the silo sector with the acquisition of NTM, especially for our customers in the construction industry, as well as providers of GMP and petrochemical products, industrial minerals, and wood pellets,” says Heiner Höfkes, Managing Director of Rhenus Port Road.
NTM Remains an Independent Company
Under the management of Henk Batterink, NTM will continue to exist as an independent company within the Rhenus Group. “The collaboration is a win-win situation for us: thanks to Rhenus’ extensive network, our reach in Europe increases, and at the same time, we are able to scale the business with the help of the long-standing experience of our existing workforce,” says Henk Batterink.
