Nov 27, 2022 at 9:05 AMThe regular general meeting of SGKV took place this year finally in person in the heart of Berlin: on November 9, 2022, the Senate Department for Environment, Mobility, Consumer and Climate Protection acted as host and thus as the center of Combined Transport.
(Berlin) Strengthening the system of Combined Transport is the focus of SGKV’s work. This was underscored at the association’s general meeting with a presentation of the activities from the last financial year. The qualification of tomorrow’s operational decision-makers remains one of SGKV’s central themes. The communication of knowledge about Combined Transport forms the core of the association’s activities, and a close involvement of the actors across the entire intermodal transport chain is an essential component. The challenges for SGKV members and the entire industry are increasing, and politically, the will for a real shift strategy must be anchored.
The association actively drives these topics forward with its members. In this context, a special thanks goes to the elected board of the last election period, Prof. Thomas Schlipköther (Duisburger Hafen AG), Michail Stahlhut (HUPAC Intermodal AG), and Gero Schulze Isfort (Bernhard Krone Beteiligungs GmbH) for their commitment and the work done in the interest of SGKV. This was emphasized by the unanimous discharge of the board and management as well as the acceptance of the plans for the following year.
Continuing Positive Development
The positive development of the association in recent years is to be further strengthened, which is why the board of the association has been expanded in personnel. The members set a sign for the representation of the breadth of the industry with the election of the honorary board members Michail Stahlhut (HUPAC Intermodal AG), Gero Schulze Isfort (Bernhard Krone Beteiligungs GmbH), Lars Nennhaus (Duisburger Hafen AG), and Heinrich Kerstgens (private member / Rhenus SE & Co. KG).
The general meeting congratulated the newly elected board of SGKV and, together with the team of the office, looks forward to the committed cooperation to strengthen Combined Transport, just as in the past.
Combined Transport Only Works Together!
The board, together with the advisory board of the association, consolidates the competencies of the entire industry for substantive support of the association’s office in Berlin. “In recent years, we have implemented a multitude of projects, all aimed at strengthening the system of Combined Transport. We will continue to pursue and strengthen this path together; the pressure to shift traffic to environmentally friendly modes of transport such as rail and inland shipping is greater than ever,” said Clemens Bochynek (executive board member of SGKV).
