Oct 28, 2022 at 8:03 PMMüller – The Purple Logistics SE buys 100% of the shares of the Sigloch Group and further expands its solution portfolio in the areas of books and media as well as e-commerce. On October 26, 2022, the purchase agreement for the acquisition of Sigloch Distribution GmbH & Co. KG based in Blaufelden and the operational property used by it, including the logistics service center, was signed. This also includes Sigloch Distribution k.s. based in Horšovský Týn (Czech Republic), including the logistics service center used here as well.
(Besigheim/Blaufelden) Sigloch Distribution is one of the leading logistics service providers in the book and media industry in Germany, offering services in book publishing logistics, e-fulfillment, direct marketing, retail logistics, fashion and lifestyle logistics, as well as e-commerce solutions.
The two companies complement each other perfectly as contract logistics providers. Due to their different industry focuses, there are currently almost no overlaps among customers. This presents the opportunity to offer the various value-added services (direct marketing, e-fulfillment, e-shop, returns and accounts receivable management on one hand, and assembling, production, and disposal on the other) to the respective new customers, thereby sustainably generating significant growth potential for the new overall company.
Great Growth Potential
The Purple Logistics team is thus growing by around 700 to a total of 2,400 employees. Additionally, the logistics service center in Blaufelden can be expanded by approximately 30,000 square meters from around 85,000 square meters, and the one in the Czech Republic by approximately 12,000 square meters from 17,000 square meters, which offers great growth potential.
In times of regionally scarce logistics space offerings, the two expansion opportunities at the German as well as Czech locations of Sigloch also positively impact our growth intentions. The already existing geographical orientation, with locations in Germany and the Czech Republic or Poland, is an optimal complement.
Michael Müller, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and CEO of Müller – The Purple Logistics SE, comments on the acquisition: “We are very pleased to have found a competent company in Sigloch and its employees to join LILA. I look forward to future collaboration.”
Partner for Support in Further Development
Christoph Schaupp, Managing Partner of the Sigloch Group, adds: “With Müller – The Purple Logistics, we have found a partner who immensely supports us in the further development of our services and the challenges of the future.”
