(Hamburg) Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics properties in Europe, has for the first time topped the bulwiengesa ranking of the most active developers of logistics properties in the German market in 2022. The ranking is part of the study “Logistics and Real Estate 2022,” published by Bulwiengesa, one of the largest independent analysis companies in the real estate industry in continental Europe.
Panattoni occupies the top position in the completion ranking for the first time with a developed logistics property area of 1,999,072 m2 from 2017 to 2022, realizing over half a million m2 more than the number two in the evaluation. Panattoni is also leading in the pipeline ranking, successfully defending the first place with 1,823,400 m2 of planned logistics space. This includes both areas that are in planning and under construction. In 2021, Panattoni was already ranked first in the pipeline ranking.
Seamless Continuation of the Success Course
With the top position for the German market, the project developer continues its success course seamlessly. Already in spring, the company secured first place for the sixth consecutive time in the ranking of the largest European developers in the logistics property sector published by PropertyEU. The industry survey evaluated the leading European developers based on the volume of space they constructed from 2019 to 2021. Panattoni realized a total of 133 projects across Europe in the last two years, with a space volume of 6,979,307 m2 of logistics space, including 1,317,585 m2 in urban areas.
For the First Time Number One in Germany
“After the European successes of recent years, we are particularly pleased to be number one among developers in the logistics property segment in Germany for the first time. We can now look back at over 100 successfully developed projects in the German market since our market entry in 2014. At the same time, we focus on the requirements of the present and future and stand by our customers and partners with our expertise and know-how for the current and upcoming challenges. In addition to focusing on municipal collaboration, the aspect of sustainability will play a special role in the future,” says Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni Germany and Austria.
To this end, the developer is on the path to ESG compliance across Europe. Panattoni standardly offers logistics and production facilities with solutions that help reduce CO2 emissions as well as energy and water consumption, promote species protection, and improve the well-being of employees working in the buildings. In the medium term, the developer aims for CO2 neutrality for all its developments.
Establishment of Additional Locations in Europe and New in Asia
To support its international growth course, Panattoni is establishing additional locations in Sweden, Italy, and Austria in 2021/22 for Europe. Additionally, the company made its debut in the Asian market in 2022, opening branches in India.
