Aug 24, 2022 at 4:15 PMThe LBS – Bavarian Association of Freight Forwarders e.V. and the Bavarian Association of Transport and Logistics Companies (LBT) as well as other affected parties welcome the response of the Tyrolean state government to the respective letters from the associations regarding the temporary interruption of the “Rolling Road” from Wörgl to the Brenner. However, they criticize that the starting situation is anything but optimal.
(Munich) The Tyrolean state government has responded to letters from the two Bavarian industry associations LBS – Bavarian Association of Freight Forwarders e.V. and Bavarian Association of Transport and Logistics Companies e.V. (LBT) as well as other affected parties. It has now initiated a temporary relaxation of the sectoral driving ban due to the temporarily unusable connection Wörgl-Brenner of the “Rolling Road”. This is being implemented through an extension of the core zone for source and delivery traffic. In addition, the train frequencies of the ROLA have been significantly increased for the period from August 19 to 29, 2022.
Short-term announcements lead to additional effort
“This should not distract from the fact that the starting situation is still anything but appropriate,” criticize Managing Director Sabine Lehmann (LBS) and Executive Board Member Sebastian Lechner (LBT). “Especially the short notice of the announcements has caused immense additional effort for numerous freight forwarding and logistics companies: First, the notice of the non-availability of the Brennersee terminal was only given 14 days in advance, and then it took until three days after the start of the restrictions for Innsbruck to order a temporary relaxation of the driving ban. This makes it impossible to reliably plan or maintain transport chains.”
