Aug 4, 2022 at 6:45 PMAs in previous years, HEINLOTH – the logistic experts continuously invests in its fleet. An order for 31 tractor units and 9 swap body trucks of the new DAF vehicle generation XG has been placed. A modern fleet is a fundamental component of HEINLOTH’s environmental sustainability concept.
(Roth) The current investment was made as part of the regular fleet renewal and expansion in accordance with the company’s philosophy of sustainable and strategic alignment of the entire HEINLOTH group.
“Despite significant price increases and delivery times from the manufacturer, we remain committed to our corporate philosophy and willingness to invest, and we want to set new standards in driver comfort, safety, efficiency, quality, and environmental impact with the order of the groundbreaking new DAF vehicle generation for our drivers and customers,” says Oliver Schwemmer, general manager at HEINLOTH. “Low operating costs and maximum fuel efficiency, along with reduced CO2 emissions, are among the most important factors in our business operations.”
Regulations for weights and dimensions already implemented
DAF is the first European truck manufacturer to implement the new regulations for weights and dimensions with its new vehicle generation and offers forward-looking technical innovations such as aerodynamic vehicle design and new engines with automated transmission and intelligent fuel management for even higher efficiency. This is recognized, among other things, by the awarding of the most prestigious accolade in the truck industry, the “International Truck of the Year 2022” award.
Attractive workplace
“Modern vehicles with high-quality equipment reflect our constant endeavor to provide our drivers with an attractive workplace with the highest possible comfort. Furthermore, safety and assistance systems are becoming increasingly important and are an essential part of the decision-making process for new investments in the fleet,” adds Tobias Schicker, fleet manager at HEINLOTH. “With the commissioning of the new DAF vehicle generation XG, we are particularly looking forward to the larger interior – which is manufacturer-rated at 12.5 cubic meters of cab volume – with an upgraded sleeping area, the individually configurable main display, and the overall increased driver comfort.”
Reduction of fuel consumption by 10%
“A modern fleet is a fundamental component of our environmental sustainability concept, and the manufacturer’s announcement of technical efficiency improvements in the new vehicle generation enabling a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 10% supports our company’s commitment to maximum resource conservation,” explains Sebastian Prinzing, environmental management officer at HEINLOTH. “The expected fuel savings amount to an average annual mileage of 4,200 to 4,500 liters or 12 to 13 tons of CO2 per vehicle per year!”
