Kässbohrer Participates in the Upcoming IAA 2022
Jul 31, 2022 at 10:20 AMPanattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics properties in Europe, is developing a new central warehouse for SHK | BERGMANN & FRANZ in the Oberkrämer business park in Vehlefanz, Brandenburg. SHK | BERGMANN & FRANZ is a traditional Berlin wholesale company for sanitary, heating, installation, and tiles, and is part of SHK Deutschland alongside SHK | PAULSEN and SHK | DETERING. With the build-to-suit logistics center, the company group is creating a new central location for Berlin, Brandenburg, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
(Hamburg) The traditional company will use the new building to store up to 30,000 items from the SHK wholesale segment, as well as for additional services such as consulting for local craftsmen and setting up a pick-up service for commercial customers. On-site, goods receipt, storage, order picking, packaging, and shipping of its own SHK products will take place. Deliveries to craftsmen, construction sites, and company-owned pick-up locations will be handled through a dedicated transport concept with partner companies.
The logistics center is excellently located for the new user’s requirements, with direct proximity to the delivery areas of Berlin, Brandenburg, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Thanks to the quick connection to the Berlin Ring, installers, craftsmen, and self-pickers can reach construction sites promptly. The center of Berlin can be reached in less than an hour, and the location also offers short routes to the surrounding areas and towards Hamburg.
“With the new central warehouse, we are creating a modern workplace for our employees and enabling further growth. We are pleased that Panattoni was able to translate our specific requirements into a very usable building layout in this outstanding location near Berlin,” says Stephan Lammers, Supply Chain Director at SHK Deutschland.
Overall, Panattoni is developing approximately 26,000 m² of usable space for the company on a plot of nearly 57,000 m², of which 22,300 m² will be warehouse space, 1,300 m² office and social space, and 2,600 m² mezzanine storage space. The outdoor areas will provide space for 112 car and 19 truck parking spaces. SHK Deutschland requested the consideration of installing an automatic small parts warehouse. Additionally, the roof areas will be pre-equipped for the installation of a photovoltaic system, and e-charging stations for cars and trucks will enable customer deliveries with electric vehicles. Wildflower meadows as well as bee and nesting boxes will be planted in the outdoor areas. Overall, a DGNB Gold certification is being pursued for the building.
Wolfgang Geppert, Mayor of the Oberkrämer municipality, commented on the settlement project as follows: “We are pleased to welcome SHK | BERGMANN & FRANZ as a new successful company to one of the last commercial plots in the Vehlefanz business park. Excellent conditions for corporate development are being created here, and we look forward to even more jobs for the economic location of Oberkrämer.”
Panattoni began earthworks and drainage in February 2022. The general contractor Goldbeck will start construction in March, with completion scheduled for November 2022.
“In the development for SHK | BERGMANN & FRANZ, identifying customer requirements and their logistics processes has been at the forefront of our planning from the very beginning. With the new building, we enable a company in our region to grow further in an attractive location. We thank you for the trusting and cooperative collaboration,” explains Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni for Germany and Austria.
As a brokerage company, Lachmann & Associates GmbH based in Bremen was involved in the mediation.
