Transport Refrigeration Units from ECOOLTEC Launch
Jul 28, 2022 at 5:12 PMTransporeon, Europe’s leading transport management platform, and Schmitz Cargobull, the leading manufacturer of trailers in Europe, today announce their cooperation, which enables Schmitz Cargobull customers to easily and securely connect to Transporeon’s Real-Time Visibility (RTV) solution. This data connection is ensured by the new Schmitz Cargobull TrailerConnect® Data Management Center and improves visibility and control over transport data.
(Ulm) Every new Schmitz Cargobull trailer is equipped as standard with the Schmitz Cargobull telematics system. The system continuously records all relevant trailer data, such as temperature and refrigeration unit data, speed, fuel consumption, weight, and tire pressure. This data is collected in the TrailerConnect® portal and can be easily forwarded to the Transporeon platform via the TrailerConnect® Data Management Center. Forwarders and carriers can decide with whom they share which transport data within the protected network. The data is not visible to anyone outside the network. This way, both data protection and the security of the information shared by the forwarders are ensured.
Connecting Telematics and Platform
As part of the cooperation, Schmitz Cargobull connects its TrailerConnect® telematics system with Transporeon’s RTV solution. Leading logistics service providers can thus analyze telematics data with Transporeon’s powerful machine learning algorithms and AI. This enables Schmitz Cargobull customers to provide their own customers with more comprehensive transport data. Using the TrailerConnect® Data Management Center from Schmitz Cargobull, rights, scope, and type of content for data sharing can be configured and individually defined for each customer. This tailored approach offers some real business advantages. Stakeholders involved can use the Transporeon platform to leverage the data to improve CO2 emissions measurement and ETA predictions and optimize their freight matching processes.
Through access to the Transporeon Carrier Trust Center, the joint customers of Schmitz Cargobull and Transporeon gain additional benefits that facilitate their collaboration with partners in the supply chain. Furthermore, they can also access other Carrier Value Added Services.
Real-Time Data More Important Than Ever
“Real-time access to accurate transport data has never been more important for logistics companies than it is today. As the largest provider of premium RTV data integrated into transport processing, we are well positioned to deliver deep insights,” says Jesper Bennike, Chief Product Officer at Transporeon. “The combination of vehicle data from Schmitz Cargobull with our RTV data allows our algorithms to make even more accurate ETA predictions. Customers can thus fully benefit from their telematics data without the risk of unauthorized access by third parties or uncontrolled data flow. This makes this partnership an ideal complement.”
Increasing Efficiency and Reducing Costs
“We know that our customers need a connection to their customers and to the many systems that can help them increase their efficiency and reduce costs as the digitization of the supply chain progresses,” comments Søren Danielsen, Manager Digital Services at Schmitz Cargobull. “We also know that forwarders expect to have full control over this data. The integration of our telematics data with Transporeon’s AI capabilities will provide a whole new type of insights that Schmitz Cargobull customers can then easily and securely share with the relevant parties to improve their logistics networks.”
