Tradeshift Index Sees Global Supply Chains in a Dead End
Jul 20, 2022 at 7:33 PMA private freight exchange meets high security requirements, digitized and efficient processes, as well as the desire of clients to not offer their cargo on public freight exchanges. With Private Spot, Trans.eu now offers a secure tool for efficient collaboration with a network of trusted carriers for freight forwarders. The solution can also be used across branches.
(Berlin) Building long-term relationships and effective collaboration with trusted carriers is of utmost priority for freight forwarders. This is especially true in times of driver shortages, high freight rates, and limited access to available cargo space. However, carriers are also more willing to do business with a forwarder they already know. The tendering and awarding of transports is often more complex, especially when this process is still tied to emails and phone calls.
Trans.eu has developed a unique solution with Private Spot, allowing freight forwarders and carriers to efficiently handle their freight business in a private freight exchange. In this way, the parties can also benefit from the advantages of the digital Trans.eu platform and the mobile app Loads2go! when clients do not want to place their freight on a public exchange.
“With our new offering, Private Spot, we close the gap between the contract and spot market. Freight forwarders can quickly and easily set up a private freight exchange with their individual carrier network using our proven tools for efficient collaboration,” explains Aleksandra Marszałek, CEO of Trans.eu Western Europe.
Private Spot offers companies the opportunity to publish their freight in their own, secure, and closed environment, as well as to communicate better and faster with their trusted carriers. The freight is not visible outside this exchange, and tenders can be conducted more time-efficiently and effectively in one place. The extended version, the Private Corporate Spot, allows for the management and awarding of freight to a shared carrier pool for freight forwarders with multiple branches.
Inefficient communication methods can thus be easily replaced, and all parties benefit from fast, transparent processes and secure transactions. Carriers already registered on the Trans.eu platform can also use the Loads2Go mobile app, which allows them to conveniently and easily access offers and place bids, no matter where they are.
Upon request, Trans.eu expands the client’s Private Spot database with trusted carriers by suggesting transport companies that operate on the requested routes and meet the set security criteria. Furthermore, parameters for largely automated freight awarding can also be stored in Private Spot. For example, if a load is not accepted in Private Spot within a certain period, the offer can be automatically published on the public exchange.
In addition, Trans.eu offers various business intelligence reports through the reporting module, such as measurements of efficiency, working methods, and negotiation strength. This allows for comparisons of agreed prices with market prices, making management work more transparent, enabling informed business decisions and efficient work management. Additionally, Private Spot provides users the opportunity to connect with the transport management systems they already use – both common and proprietary. This allows data to be sent between TMS and Private Spot without the need to manually copy information.
“As a developer of one of the largest European freight exchanges, Trans.eu has been observing the biggest problems and challenges faced by freight forwarders across Europe for 18 years. Private Spot is a solution we developed after a thorough analysis of our customers’ needs. We are convinced that the private freight exchange can solve numerous problems: primarily, of course, the concerns about publishing in the public freight exchange or collaborating with unknown contractors. Furthermore, the often slow communication with transport companies can be accelerated and thus sustainably improved. The first implementations of private freight exchanges confirm this, as ultimately increasing and more effectively utilizing the existing capacities in the transport market is the common goal of Trans.eu and our clients,” confirms Marcin Haladuda, Global Business Development Manager at Trans.eu.
