Panattoni has completed nearly 7 million m² of logistics space from 2019 to 2021. This includes 161 projects with 4.7 million m² of logistics space and an investment volume of 4.4 billion euros in development.
(Hamburg) Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics properties in Europe, has once again claimed the top spot in the ranking of the largest European developers in the logistics real estate sector published by PropertyEU. The industry survey evaluated the leading European developers based on the amount of space they constructed from 2019 to 2021. Additionally, ongoing projects and investment volume were taken into account. Panattoni has held the top position for the sixth consecutive time.
In the last two years, the developer realized a total of 133 projects with a space volume of 6,979,307 m² of logistics space, including 1,317,585 m² in urban areas. This means Panattoni constructed nearly three times as much space as the number two in the ranking. The company also leaves the competition far behind in terms of ongoing projects. Currently, Panattoni is developing 161 projects in Europe, amounting to 4.7 million m² of logistics space and an investment volume of around 4.4 billion euros.
High Standards for Project Implementation
“Panattoni is once again the largest logistics real estate developer in Europe. I am particularly pleased with our strong position in Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, considering the dynamic market situation and strong competition. We are also successful in Spain, the Czech Republic, and France. Our position is once again underscored by the figures from the PropertyEU ranking. Behind this success are teams of outstanding employees and intense trusting partnerships, for which I would like to express my heartfelt thanks,” says Robert Dobrzycki, CEO and co-owner Europe of Panattoni.
“At the same time, we want to continue to grow and set high standards for project implementation, both in terms of ecological factors and in the social sphere by promoting the well-being of employees. Logistics parks and city logistics properties are today much more than just buildings. They represent a new organization of space that creates a sense of comfort in the workplace. We aim to address this through our continued commitment,” Dobrzycki adds.
Continuation of the Success Course
With its leading position in Europe, Panattoni continues its success course from recent years unabated. This also applies to the German market. According to the Bulwiengesa study “Logistics and Real Estate” published at the end of 2021, the company leads the ranking of the most active developers of logistics properties in Germany in 2021.
“Once again, Panattoni has been awarded the title of the most effective project developer by a wide margin, thereby solidifying its leading position across Europe. The results of the PropertyEU ranking confirm the success of our strategy of proactive development to offer our clients flexible and attractive location options and support them in their growth strategies. In addition to focusing on the needs of future users, we also consider the conditions in the municipalities to make projects a holistic success for companies, municipalities, and the population,” says Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni.
Sustainable Development Strategy
To this end, the company will increasingly rely on a sustainable development strategy in the future, focusing on compliance with internationally recognized ESG sustainability criteria (Environmental, Social, Governance). Panattoni standardly offers warehouse and production facilities with solutions that help reduce CO2 emissions as well as energy and water consumption, promote species protection, and improve the well-being of employees working in the buildings. For each of its projects, Panattoni aims for certification with the sustainability standards BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) or DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council).
