Apr 11, 2022 at 7:17 PMThe Fiege Group has acquired World Fashion Logistics (WFL) and is expanding its contract logistics business in Asia. The family-owned company from Greven in Westphalia now holds 100 percent of the shares in WFL, which operates a logistics location in Shanghai and offers logistics services in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, and Turkey in the areas of e-commerce, retail, fashion, and luxury brands.
(Greven/Shanghai) “By acquiring WFL, we are reinforcing our business in the important Asian market and expanding our expertise in textile quality inspection,” says Alfred Messink, a board member of the Fiege Group. “In the future, we will be able to support our customers in the key markets of China and Southeast Asia, as well as Turkey, even more closely from production onwards and enhance the values along the supply chain. Furthermore, we look forward to numerous new customers in the e-commerce and luxury brands sectors.”
Optimal Strategic Complement
The first contact with WFL was established back in 2015, explains Messink. Since then, Fiege has been closely monitoring the company. “We are very happy that the acquisition of WFL has now succeeded. It represents an optimal and strategic complement to our business in the Far East, which we are now increasingly aligning with fashion and e-commerce alongside the industrial and consumer goods sector. In the end, we are primarily strengthening our core business in contract logistics.”
Writing a Joint Success Story
World Fashion was founded in 2005 by Gianmaria Beretti. The 45-year-old Italian, who will serve as Managing Director Far East for Fiege, looks forward to the shared future and says: “I am excited to bring my network and many years of experience in the Asian market to the Fiege Group. With Fiege and WFL, two companies have found each other that fit perfectly together and have everything needed to write a joint success story in the Asian market.”
