Element Logic presents new developments at LogiMAT 2022
Mar 23, 2022 at 11:32 AMThe Middle East and North Africa are increasingly becoming an important logistical hub for global goods traffic. The potential of the MENA and GCC regions attracts new investors from trade and logistics year after year. The collaboration between Seed Group and Nexxiot aims to provide innovative digital services for supply chains in the region, thereby enhancing their sustainability.
(Dubai/Zurich) Seed Group, a company of the private office of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum, today announced a strategic partnership with Nexxiot, the Swiss TradeTech pioneer. The two companies aim to advance the introduction of data-driven services for logistics in the Middle East and North Africa, thereby strengthening global trade and making processes more sustainable. Nexxiot will be supported by Seed Group in expanding its business activities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other countries in the MENA region.
The countries in the MENA region are rising in the Logistics Performance Index (LPI), the interactive benchmarking tool of the World Bank. In the latest published LPI, the UAE ranked 11th in the global ranking. Since then, the importance of the region as a logistical hub for world trade has further increased. The increased traffic volume also brings the issue of sustainability into focus.
This is where the newly announced partnership between Seed Group and Nexxiot comes into play. As a driver of digitalization, Nexxiot has relied on the use of cutting-edge technologies since its founding to make the logistics sector future-proof with digital solutions. In collaboration with Seed Group, both companies now want to implement this strategy in North Africa and the Middle East as well.
Hisham Al Gurg, CEO of Seed Group and the private office of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum, explains in this context: “Given the steadily growing role of the MENA region as a global trade center, the use of the latest IoT technologies (Internet of Things) combined with targeted data analysis is more important than ever. We have recognized this megatrend and are looking for partners who can support us on our journey to further drive this growth. Transparency is an important building block for this, as it ultimately benefits all players in global supply chains. This allows for continuous improvements on one hand and creates added value for both customers and partners on the other. This not only creates prosperity but also enables us to achieve our sustainability goals.”
Real-time monitoring reduces risks and increases sustainability
“Nexxiot’s presence in the Middle East will make an important contribution to the UAE’s vision for a more sustainable future. We look forward to collaborating with an expert who drives innovative solutions in his industry,” adds Hisham Al Gurg.
In light of ongoing growth, the UAE government is striving to create a more sustainable future. In line with the UAE’s “Net-Zero by 2050” initiative, Nexxiot is working to reduce global carbon emissions in freight transport by five percent. The company’s solutions help increase efficiency in global freight transport.
The use of industrial IoT serves as a gateway. This allows for cost reductions, improved freight quality, increased fleet utilization and transport efficiency, as well as enhanced safety and sustainability. Nexxiot combines IoT sensors with powerful software and precise analysis of big data in its innovative solutions. This provides customers and partners with valuable insights to optimize their operations and develop new, data-driven services.
Nexxiot’s portfolio includes products and solutions for monitoring non-electrified transport objects, such as containers or freight cars, to reduce the risk of transport damage and optimize their handling. This ranges from real-time monitoring of loading conditions, temperature monitoring for sensitive cargo such as hazardous materials, to comprehensive monitoring of all internal and external influences on transport.
Important player in the region
Over the past 16 years, Seed Group has supported many companies in their market entry into the MENA region. It has a large network and regional market presence and drives digital transformation as a development partner in many key industries. It has formed numerous successful strategic partnerships with companies from around the world and aims to revolutionize the respective industries through the use of cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions.
Nexxiot also focuses on this strategy. Stefan Kalmund, CEO of Nexxiot, contextualizes the partnership: “The analysis of freight data using powerful algorithms, artificial intelligence, and machine learning creates transparency and automation potential across all modes of transport. The new partnership with Seed Group helps us establish our innovative TradeTech solutions in the UAE and the MENA region.”
Nexxiot’s technology has already proven itself worldwide and enables maximum transparency, benefiting all participants in the supply chain. This transparency fosters greater trust and supports the automation of key processes in logistics.
