HEINLOTH accelerates transport in combined traffic
Feb 3, 2022 at 6:25 PMLufthansa Cargo has recently been re-certified by the independent auditing company SGS according to the Cargo iQ standards for quality management along the air freight transport chain. The comprehensive audit included both an extensive documentary pre-examination and a detailed examination of the implementation of the described quality assurance procedures in all processes.
(Frankfurt) In a three-year cycle, it is ensured that Cargo iQ members implement the high standards and specifications of the IATA interest group (International Air Transport Association). The last review of Lufthansa Cargo took place in 2017, and preparations for this year’s audit have been underway since last year.
Lufthansa Cargo achieved an outstanding result with three out of three possible stars, thereby confirming the equally successful audit from 2017. Among other things, the implementation of the milestone system used by Cargo iQ for performance evaluation and the establishment of Lufthansa Cargo’s quality management, particularly regarding “Continuous Improvement” measures, were examined. With the three stars, the cargo airline is especially recognized for its performance in the categories of “Corporate Social Responsibility,” “Innovative Spirit,” and “Contribution to the Cargo iQ Community.”
“The certification of our quality management by the industry-wide Cargo iQ initiative confirms our customer promise to continuously improve our quality and makes this transparently measurable. The recognition of our commitment to sustainability and the promotion of digital and innovative solutions makes us particularly proud and underscores our leadership role in these highly relevant topics for our industry,” explains Ashwin Bhat, Board Member for Product and Sales at Lufthansa Cargo.
