BigMile Analyzes CO2 Emissions in the Port of Rotterdam
Feb 6, 2022 at 1:42 PMUnder the motto “People and Goods on the move,” the IAA TRANSPORTATION will take place from September 20 to 25, 2022, at the grounds of the Deutsche Messe AG in Hanover. In addition to showcasing new vehicle innovations, the focus will be on logistics, transport, and the digitalization of commercial vehicle traffic on the path to climate neutrality.
(Berlin/Hanover) Thus, the previous IAA Commercial Vehicles expands the breadth of topics and exhibitors and, with its new name as IAA TRANSPORTATION, becomes the international leading platform for logistics, commercial vehicles, buses, and the transport sector. With the expanded event concept, it connects relevant manufacturers and suppliers from the fields of commercial vehicles, buses, and logistics with leading tech providers. An important goal of the new concept is to increasingly focus as an international platform on the climate-neutral and technological transformation of the entire transport sector.
“The IAA TRANSPORTATION is the leading trade fair for transport, commercial vehicles, and logistics. Our successful concept for a corona-safe execution of the IAA MOBILITY 2021 will also be implemented at the IAA TRANSPORTATION in Hanover: The current registration status clearly shows that the industry is positively accepting the expansion of the concept. We already have exhibitor registrations from more than forty countries. The high registration status is encouraging and also underscores the exhibitors’ desire to offer customers a live experience with the new products again,” says Jürgen Mindel, Managing Director of VDA.
IAA TRANSPORTATION with Four Thematic Days
The new concept of the IAA TRANSPORTATION also implements a connection of new product presentations, professional audiences, and expert exchanges within the framework of the IAA Conference 2022. To enable exhibitors and visitors to achieve the best possible presence of their target audience, different key themes will be at the center of the IAA Conference over four days.
- FUTURE LOGISTICS, covering topics such as supply chains, trucks, integration of rail & shipping, e-mobility, and hydrogen technology in heavy-duty transport and for heavy and light commercial vehicles, as well as technological and digital innovations for the logistics chain
- RETAIL & LOGISTICS, focusing on topics like last mile, inner-city logistics, vans, transporters, cargo bikes, delivery robots, digitalization, and innovative solutions for retail and e-commerce
- INFRASTRUCTURE, addressing topics such as charging infrastructure for electricity and hydrogen, expansion of data networks, data management, long-distance bus transport, and rail transport connections
- INNOVATIONS IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT, discussing topics like buses, electrification, hydrogen, ride-sharing, ride-hailing, MaaS, and the digital networking of existing offerings
Interested companies and associations can contact the organizer and contribute their concepts.
“IAA Last Mile Experience Area” Sets New Standards
The IAA TRANSPORTATION presents an innovative new hall concept with the Last Mile Experience Area. For the first time at a trade fair, a complete cityscape will be built indoors, within which the latest last mile solutions will be showcased in action. The use of package drones, delivery robots, e-transporters, e-cargo bikes, as well as innovations from the Internet of Things, data networks, cloud technologies, SaaS platforms, and decentralized hubs will be demonstrated.
“With the new format, we want to bring together city planners, technology providers, grocery retailers, and delivery services with the players in the logistics industry, mayors, and local politics. Because only with intelligent, innovative, and socially accepted solutions will we meet the growing demand for inner-city logistics and move towards climate neutrality,” says VDA Managing Director Jürgen Mindel.
Awarding of Renowned Industry Prizes
At the IAA TRANSPORTATION, prizes will also be awarded in various sectors of mobility. The winners of the prestigious competitions “Bus of the Year,” “Coach of the Year,” and for the first time, “Cargo Bike of the Year” will be presented and honored. “We are in good discussions with ‘Truck of the Year,’ ‘Trailer Innovation Award,’ and ‘Van of the Year,’ and I am optimistic that we will present all these awards in Hanover in 2022, thus giving them the maximum attention. We are particularly pleased to welcome the ‘Cargo Bike of the Year’ at the IAA. This clearly shows how diverse our portfolio is,” says Jürgen Mindel.
